Agree that's definitely not shocking news. Something more than contact tracing had to be up when the pause got extended.

I'm against the contact tracing protocols when it comes to college athletes around other college athletes.

It's interesting to me these kids can have covid and within a couple of weeks be running up and down a basketball court as if nothing happened. Nobody has seemed so gassed they can't continue. Young healthy bodies I suppose.

Wonder if woody and Kadary were impacted. Would also explain some of the bigs not playing

If somebody was positive symptomatic or asymptomatic then of course hold them out of practice games etc. But holding out somebody just because they were a close contact is not necessary especially when dealing with college student college athletes specifically always felt this way.

Unless you're one of the unlucky young people who are hit hard by the virus. Watching someone play Russian roulette is one thing, playing it is another.

Russian Roulette is played with a six chamber gun, how many chambers in the covid gun?

Getting out of bed and going about your day is full of risk to your health. Playing sports is inherently risky for short term severe injury to long term life long debilitation.

Many young people willing and knowingly expose themselves to a life time of negative impacts from driving, alcohol, drugs and sex, and yet we don't insist the world stop.

And yet we continue to increase the regulations and work to improve safety and education on driving, alcohol, drugs, and sex. Maybe we should first figure out how many chambers are in the covid gun before we just put it behind us like 350,000 Americans didn't die from it in less than a year.

So you go to work and somebody tests positive you really want to risk coming into contact with your child or family and risk giving them the virus?

No, you use precaution and keep your isolated until the incubation period has passed and you test negative enough times.

This is about safety.

This seems like a good deal, just sayin'

Less then 6 percent actually died from covid. The rest died from other factors.

I'm not saying don't be smart, but there are ways of managing risk differently and reasonably for different populations that have disparate impacts.

That's reasonable. Hasn't stopped me my family specifically or most of our circle of friends from living our lives. We had our usual christmas holiday get togethers and NYE.

I honestly have no idea what you’re even talking about, or the meaning of your analogy.

It's probably closer to six million than six.

I get it, it's a new virus, and vulnerable populations can get very sick or worse, but for the majority of the population, catching this has a wide range of no to severe short term, but not life threatening, illness.

It's a new virus that has entered the mix of all the things that can make you really sick or kill you, but it's not the only one. Life is full of risk.

This is not saying this is a hoax or no big deal, but it also means that we can't just isolate until 300M doses of vaccine are available. I'm on the edge of being what is in the more vulnerable population. I don't go hanging out in crowds, but I'm not not doing anything. Mitigating potential exposure, dosing Vitamin D and Zinc, and not getting on a plane until I get a shot, that's my risk management strategy.

Most people die of more than one thing. It's called having comorbidities. Insee with the vast majority of my patients. People with heart disease often also have diabetes or copd. Having one doesn't discredit the other(s). Covid is the only situation where I have heard that argument. Your logic is illogical.

It's more serious than a lot of other stuff. It just is. That is not up for debate. All of the science points to it.
