Crazy fight to end Cincy Xavier game

The way the Xavier players conducted themselves in the press conference after the game was more embarrassing than the fight itself. I can understand losing control in the heat of the moment...but then coming out after you've had time to cool off and saying that you're gangsters that won't let anyone intimidate you? That bothers me more than the fight, because it means that the Xavier players don't get it, and possibly think what they did was justified and acceptable.

That was pathetic, and I can't imagine how Xavier's coach handled the team in the locker room in such a way that resulted in those two morons going out and saying those things to the press. He shares blame for that - either he said the wrong thing to those players or he doesn't have any control over his team.

Worst of all, though, was #13's stomping of that Xavier kid (who conducts himself like a punk every game) while he was down on the court. That was cowardly and criminal - way worse than throwing punches. Don't know who he is, but the Big East ought to make that his last college basketball game.

The 2 Xavier kids talking at the press conference afterward only confirm the fact that they should be locked up. Saying "...we're gangsters, not thugs..."... and basically justifying fighting. Talk about a complete embarrassment.

First off, I love Cronin's comments. I think he handled it perfectly.

Secondly, how ignorant are Lyons and Holloway for those post game comments. It just confirms so many stereotypes of city basketball players. They sounded real educated:crazy:

Give me a break. We are gangsters. I hope these idiots realize how lucky they are to have the opportunity and the situation they are in.

Mick Cronin is a class act. He's gained a well wisher in me and, really, that probably makes this whole thing worthwhile to him.

I really hope Holloway gets a lengthy suspension. The little punk talked crap all game long, caused the melee and then continued to run his mouth at the presser. Give him at least 10 games. Kid deserves it.

At the end of the day this was just a fist fight. If you really want to make a difference in the lives of these guys you don't just throw them to the curb. You make it a painful learning experience. Sprints until you puke. Community service. More sprinting. More puking. Then after the suspension you figure out if they get it. If they do, they play again, if not, happy trails.

Nobody should be more embarrassed than Xavier's coach. Giving these kids a stage with microphones to talk to more trash? Really? Cronin though gained a few fans today. His presser was top class.
