Cris Carter told NFL rookies to 'get a fall guy,' video reveals

Smart advice.

You gotta understand these pro athletes especially NFL players live and deal with different lives then any of us could imagine.

I think his talking about if you are drunk and flees the scene of an accident you get your buddy to say he was driving the players car.

From Borland who was in the room,so you really think this is good sound smart advice?

Get yourself a fall guy,” Borland says one of the former players advised. The former player, whom Borland declined to name, told the rookies that if they ran into legal trouble, their designated
fall guy would be there to take the blame and, if necessary, go to jail. “‘We’ll bail him out,'” Borland says the former player assured them.

I believe that is Warren Sapp in the back ground and you see him agreeing withCarter too...smh.

If ESPN doesn't fire him by tomorrow they are a joke. Bill Simmions gets "suspended" for questioning Roger Goodell's integrity regarding the Ray Rice scandal among other things, but Carter is advocating on tape that if an NFL player breaks the law they have someone take the fall for them? One is a legit news stance to take the other is advocating breaking the law by lying to law enforcement. If Carter is employed by the high and mighty ESPN by 7am tomorrow morning I would be stunned. And if ESPN keeps him and doesn't fire him they are a joke on every level.

My recollection is that he was not considered a high quality, or well liked, guy during his time in the league.

You don't think that from where and the backgrounds and neighborhoods some of these guys in the NFL come from and grow up in. You don't think one of their boys from back home would be willing to be a fall guy in a situation to be able to experience some of the life of a pro football player. And everything that comes with it.

You think CC is just making this up (meaning he hasn't heard and seen it before) and this does not happen.

Nobody thinks he's making it up, and everyone is well aware of the backgrounds some of these athletes have grown up in. The fact that he is encouraging these young athletes to not accept responsibility for something that they do, or are involved in is disgusting. When he said, "you're going to do stupid things anyways, so make sure you have a fall guy" (paraphrased), that pretty much just gave a lot of those kids a green light to go ahead and be reckless. Hey Ray Lewis, you want to weigh in on this?

I am sure both the NFL and ESPN has seen this video long before we did.....

I am surprised Carter doesn't have a fall guy for this incident. I watched the whole video this idiot has Teddy Bridgewater come up on stage and asks point blank if he has fall guy all set up. I mean he was giving this advice while Aaron Hernandez was on trial for murder. God this guy is an idiot.
This guy should be gone. However ESPN loves him and they will just give him a slap on the wrist.

I know and realize these pro athletes, or celebrities musicians, actors, politicians.

Live different lives, and live by different rules and standards at times. It doesn't bother me, doesn't affect my life.

I just watched the video. When he says "If they r gonna keep rolling on your bank roll". "Somebody needs to be a fall guy".

Would make total sense. If i was a pro athlete of that caliber.

Warren Sapp is thinking I needed a fall guy for Super Bowl incident.

Shocker: I went onto ESPN.com and not a sign of this story in sight.

Sorry, the NFL is too worried about air pressure to deal with their serious issues. Carter and sapp took too many shots to the head.

Only you would think this is an acceptable statement. Or that it was good advice. The statement is, don't get in trouble.
