Cuse Hate

Let’s be honest. They fired him because he sucks.

They’re trying to fire him “for cause” because of the investigation.

Some schools are downright cheap when it comes to wanting to pay their coaches.

Oh, no doubt they're firing him because he sucks.

But when you're so desperate that you have to cite NCAA misconduct without the results of the investigation even being known, you're really not in a place where you can talk about others being cheaters.

Realize this may have been a faux tweet, but can your grasp the absurdity of the situation in which they've placed themselves?

Good old article by Donnie Webb on Gottlieb and Syracuse. Doug sure changed his tune after becoming a ‘media marvel’.

Flashback: When Doug Gottlieb played for Oklahoma State at the Carrier Dome
It has always been completely bizarre to me that he clearly hates Syracuse with such passion, even though his mom is a graduate. And to read this and learn that his grandfather, uncle and cousin also graduated from Cuse makes it even more illogical. I understand loving your own alma mater, but why hate Syracuse? Our schools aren’t rivals. My dad graduated from Michigan (and Syracuse), and they’ve always been my second favorite team. Also, how crazy that his mom once dated George Hicker! Maybe Dougie just dislikes JB so much it’s become irrational.

I thought it was because he wasn’t good enough to play for Syracuse.

It's funny how this works.

When discussing a team that made the field with one of the last bubble spots, people tend to focus on the negatives of the resume - thus contradicting and starting a debate with what the committee chose. But when discussing the team that didn't make the cut, people focus more on the positives of their resume. All I kept hearing about OK State is their B12 wins - but I can't recall anyone on ESPN mentioning their 90 RPI and 290 OOC SOS. Then when people were gripping about USC "having the best RPI never to make the field!" (by the way, OK State would have had the worst RPI to ever make it, by far, but funny how that was never mentioned when discussing them). People ignore that USC beat 1 tournament, and that was New Mexico State and also had a loss to 226 Princeton; they also got swept by the 3 PAC12 teams that did make it (combined 0-5).

Yet when they discuss us, they rarely talked about SOS or non conference SOS.

In short, Oklahoma State and USC both had SEVERE flaws in their resume, worse than our flaws - somewhat ironically OK State's major flaw was USC's strength, and OK State's strength was USC's weakness. But listening to twitter or ESPN, the negatives of those 2 teams were never brought up. Anytime you discuss 3 teams - it's not fair to talk about only the strengths for 2 teams, and for the 3rd team, talk about their strengths and weaknesses - then the average viewer will hear the weakness of Syracuse, but the strengths of OK State and USC then the narrative of becomes we didn't deserve it.

BTW - you can say the same about Oklahoma.

Awesome post. Gottlieb still doesn’t care about your logic, but don’t take that personally he is a credit card stealing jackass

You just summed up all arguments in life: if you’re going to make an argument in favor of something, don’t mention the negatives; if you’re going to make an argument against something, bring up only the negatives.

If you want to be smart in life, do your own research and develop your own conclusions

I learned that the hard way...made the mistake of admitting fault with people I was dating, before attempting to segue to the positives.

Add Chris kotter and his whiny voice to the list of haters just said no one likes syracuse.
In the ESPN studio, Kotter was going over Dan Dakich’s predictions and Dakich has Cuse playing Michigan State in the round of 32, and Kotter commented “so a couple of blue bloods” facing off in the second round. Even though there are a lot of Cuse self-doubters on here, I’m glad to see the national media still understands the power of the Syracuse brand.

Dakich has Ohio st Purdue and Mich st in the final four.

Remember when virtually everyone was outraged at our snub in 2007, only Gottlieb defended our exclusion. Why? He ripped us for our OOC schedule and said the committee rightfully made an example of us. Oklahoma State and their OOC SOS of 301 gets left out and Dougie cries about it. Hypocritical weasel

I honestly forgot that Gottlieb was even employed still until today. Where is he now?

I have this horrible feeling he is going to pop up as an analyst on CBS.

He is right... Oklahoma State did deserve to go... And so didn't ND. They deserved to be in over Oklahoma and Arizona State... Not I'm over us

Could you clarify this a little. I think I agree with you that OSU was the best left out.
