I completely forgot about Pierce. I dont doubt he’s capable of being a 2nd to 5th rounder. He’s a game changer we just need to exploit him
Agree 100%. I think improved line play should help him this year.Running the risk of being trolled at this post, I still find it absolutely mystifying that people are so enamored with Devito, yet simply dismiss Dungey as having any ability at all. This is college football; Dungey is a very, very good college football player.
Does Dungey lack elite arm strength and accuracy? Yep. Does Devito have elite arm strength and accuracy? We hear that he does and have even *seen film*, but nothing in a game yet.
Does Dungey lack an elite ability to read opposing defenses? Yep. Can Devito visually pick apart opposing D's? We hear that he can, but again, nothing in a game yet.
Dungey also has an innate, unteachable ability to make plays with his feet and get creative when things break down. He has a boatload of athleticism and we've seen it on display countless times. Sure, he might take off early more often than we would like to see, but it's not like he's been playing with an army of above-average players either. His line play has been suspect and we lack any semblance of a run game. Without Dungey, we wouldn't have had a prayer in any of those big wins the last 2 years. Do not kid yourself. Hard to see Devito being this effective when things break down, but time will tell.
I hope that Dungey plays 14 games this year. We should all hope that he does. I also hope that Devito will be ready to live up to his lofty expectations when his time is called. I have blind faith that Devito will be pretty good, but we should also be happy that we've got Dungey for another year.
And for the record, I would be shocked if Dungey ever plays on Sundays. Regardless of his impressive ability as a healthy college football player, he just simply doesn't translate well to the next level. I hope I'm wrong.

I dunno. He was better than maybe four of the starting qb's we played against last year. That doesnt cry out NFL ability to me. (In case you were wondering, I have him as better than the starters we faced at CCSU, Pitt, FSU, and BC). The kids at CMichy, LSU, Miami, NC State, and Clemson had more arm talent. The kids at MTSU and Wake had better all-around games. And Lamar Jackson.
To those chalking up Dungey's success to Babers Offense, he was a darn good as a True Freshman before Babers ever sniffed the Dome.
We have the ability. But the sad fact is that he hasn't played a full season. That is a big red flag to many teams, given how much money they will be investing in a player.Well that is your opinion he IS better than the LSU qb, Miami qb, and the MTSU qb. That UM qb was fragile, couldn't sniff the balls ED has and pardon the pun. Funny how many om here discount and underestimate their own starter bc they are waiting for TD to take the reigns . Also , some on this board have no ability to extrapolate EDs numbers given a full season.
I thought before last year he was an NFL prospect at QB but he isn’t.
He doesn’t read defenses well and when his first read is covered he scrambles. That works in college where the speed isn’t the same as the NFL.
Dungey’s pro position would be H-back/TE.
His athleticism would play there and he could be a Trey Burton type player.
Dungey is a poor man’s Tebow in college football.
Tebow wouldn’t play H-back in the pros I don’t think Dungey would have the same problem.

You started the thread with a title of 'Cuse in the 2019 Draft'. It became then (and rightfully so) a discussion about Dungey's draftability. Saying his numbers extrapolated to a full season are better than someone else is fine. But you can't use that argument to determine his potential draft position until he shows he can play a full season. Just MO.I get it, this isnt a thread on durability, rather a discussion on talent . When on the field ED supasses those players!
I'd expect 19 to be similar to the past couple of drafts
Dungeys past health is going to hurt his stock no matter how great he plays. He also needs to have a passing accuracy in the upper 60's, probably low 70's to help out.
Pierce will be drafted probably 3-4 round at worst
Slayton probably goes 4-5 at worst. With a season we hope he has he could jump to the 2-3 range
Custis - no
Frederick - no
Whitner - no
Perkins - no
Guthrie - no
Roberts - no
Conway - maybe 7th
As of now 2020 is not too much better, maybe a couple of guys projecting as mid rounders
Sure, there are some RPO quarterbacks still alive. Michael Vic was the protoype, and currently Russell Wilson is playing that roll extremely well and cheating death and serious injury. But there are (precious) few others that have survived. I think RGIII was considered an RPO-style QB before they shredded his knees. Tyrod wants to be an RPO but has lasted because he listened to coaches and cut down his scrambling. So it's hard imagining Dungey, who's been injured every season, trying to be an RPO guy for any stretch of time in a league with assassins all over the field. He's very athletic. But he has to show more FB IQ and arm strength to put himself in a draft discussion.
This is just factually wrong.Wow, ED's arm talent is light years that of Tebow .
RPO isn’t that.
Think Wentz, not Vic.
This is just factually wrong.
Dungey is a great player but his arm talent is average at best.
He isn’t accurate he is a playmaker not a passer.
I love Dungey but he isn’t an NFL QB prospect. He could play another position in the pros.
Has he lost more than he has won?If, SU goes 9-4, has some a set of name wins, that is more than a single upset, and he puts up a 3o + TD's and single digit ints, then Dungey will get some looks.
Until now he's accumulated yds, injuries, and a hell of a lot more losses than wins.
Samuels is going to get hurt by it being a deep DL class. 7 of the top 10 players, as of right now, are listed as DL.
Next year's dline class should be very deep... Will be tough for slayton...
Has he lost more than he has won?
My sense is he might have, but a lot of our losing has happened when he's been out.
Ok, so he would need a pretty good year to leave with a winning record. Not totally out of reach, but we'd need to do well.Think he’s like 11-15, which if correct we are 1-9 without him.
I make a distinction between QB's that are mobile and can scramble occasionally like Wentz, and QB's that are actual RPO's like Wilson.RPO isn’t that.
Think Wentz, not Vic.
