He's 7-2, 220. He's not a complete string bean. He could use 10-20 pounds of good weight over the next 4 years, but he's already closer to ACC size than most of the center recruits we bring in.

He's the third string true center behind McCleod and Hima. And ostensibly 4th to play behind Brown. So they probably don't need him this year and I think he'll get to 230-235lbs next season and will look really promising.

It was against Damian College a Division 2 team.. Let’s see what he does in Maui and against ACC teams. He could be a good college player with upside, but to talk like he’s an NBA player is a little presumptuous.

I don't believe anybody said he was going to the League. but to say he doesn't have any league skills is a little stretch. Kid has a long way to go to even be in league conversations, but he still has a lot of time to be a good SU player. Not bagging, just don't want that to become the troupe.

Copeland is the Josh Pace of this team. Obviously different games but in terms of impact that's who he is. Just with a lot more flair and communication.

Two plays really stood out that JJ made. McLeod made a nice defensive stop and JJ got the ball and then rewarded him with a nice pass for an easy basket on the offensive end. And then the same thing with Cuffe. He made a nice block, JJ gets the ball and looked specifically for him for an open three. Two heads up plays by JJ to reward his guys for great defense.

The Cuffe block was elite..I couldn’t believe it at first. Flat footed and punched it like a 7 fter. Really impressed with him. Only saw the Matthew Loves Ball Highlights but I’m thinking this kid is an absolute steal and exactly what this program needs the next few years.

He isn't going to the NBA. Can't believe I have to write that. And agree with what you are saying.

Super happy to have him on our team, for sure.

NBA, not a chance.

But he has at least a 50/50 chance of being on the Globetrotters. Cope would kill it with them.

I like how Carey tries to play Defense with his feet. But our Forwards have to get a body on the guy when they drive from the 3-point line, and see the ball, not just their man, for weakside shot-blocking. JJ's speed is going to be awesome late in games.
