I am going to give a very general update on Gill but hold off on more until later. First of all he really wanted to stay at Syracuse. He loves Syracuse. Things just didn't go well in that direction. Money was not the driving force at all. He still plans on finishing up his degree with SU as he loves SU. He will be a remote student and I am asuming will also transfer credits in from his new school if needed. I am not exactly sure how the whole matriculation thing works with playing for another school. I am sure it will all get figured out properly.
He is down to 3 teams. He is partnered up with some big portal QBs and they will chose to go someplace together most likely. Of his current final 3 teams, 2 are in the College Football Playoff semi finals. He also heard from many other top 20 programs and for various reasons decided not to pursue those schools. Both teams playing tonight have offered him. They all consider him WR #1.
Maybe we just didn't realize what we had here.
What does your last sentence mean???

If it wasn’t money, and he was a clear starter, what did Syracuse not realize they had here??? This makes no sense. If you can’t talk about it…don’t. These weird cryptic messages only stoke crazy theories on this board.

If there is an iota of a chance of his coming back then I am not saying more to ruin it. I really doubt it, but if there is a 10% chance, why ruin it by badmouthing anything.
Most here know I am close to the family. I was giving them time to figure things out before commenting on here. I spoke to them this evening, and also have their permission to report what happened, but made an executive decision to wait until a very final decision is made before saying more. People were waiting to hear from me about this. And yes, my last sentence was cryptic on purpose. It will eventually be explained further. Read into it what you want. If you don't like it, then don't read my posts. You are welcome to ignore me.

So, it would seem to be Ole Miss, Oregon and Michigan as his top 3 based on available information and what was shared here

That is a good question. I doubt it given what went down, but maybe there is a very slight chance.

Losing Gill is certainly a loss. These are the type of players you need to win. Wonder if this was another Myles White causality, but from what llandz stated this does not sound good for the program.

White seems to be the gift that keeps on giving even after he got crap canned. I guess that him being shown the door wasn't enough. what the hell did this dude do? And quite honestly none of this bodes well for Fran. Portal so far has been meh and without McCord and a subsequent tiny Angeli sample size this will be an interesting and unpredictable year coming up.

I also posted some of what I did, because it gives insight into how all of this works. I find it interesting how these players navigate all of this. Stay or leave? What goes into the decisions. How do you continue your education while making these decisions? There is a lot more to this than our own fandom. It is a very interesting world of college football right now, and I thought what I posted maybe showed how some of this works. For ex, players in the portal getting together to make final decisions. That is how you know who will be a QB or a WR. Because they are all in this somewhat blindly. It's not only about a bag, which most seem to think is the whole thing.

Most of us appreciate the update, thank you.

Absolutely appreciate the update.

You should be praised for that regardless of what people may think of the player.

Today I learned from the Syverud thread that it is not worth posting information that I get directly from the source as I did with the Syverud "retirement" move to Ann Arbor.
I will not be updating you on Gill and won't tell you what really happened with him leaving SU. I'm done with the snide comments.

Are you referring to my comment? I was noting how right you were back in September. It was meant as a compliment

Honesty, I don’t much care how or why Syverud came to decide to take on the Michigan job.

I do have an interest in hearing why Mr Gill decided to depart.

Oh well.

Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

Or maybe he is being lied to by professional liars who have told other kids they would be #1. I wish him well. On the other hand, you don't play football at another school and take classes at Syracuse. That would be ridiculous to me.

I don’t blame you one bit.

With the NIL and portal, it saddens me how these players no longer feel any allegiance to their teammates or school. It has all ruined college football for me.

Many of us that have posted "inside " information have had to put up with that for years. At least no one asked you who your sources were. There is always that.
