I'm done with snide comments so I'm going to make a snide comment because of something I misunderstood from a different thread that has no bearing on this discussion. Lol ok. I know you donate a lot and are well respected/connected whatever, but you sound like a child here in this particular comment. Flame away but no one is above being called out for acting childish even if others are tip.toeing around it.
And how do you know I donate a lot? I do not. I moved to AZ from the east coast for financial reasons. So don't go making childish assumptions. I've been a well respected board member for many years. I am known for my less than childish and often well thought about posts. Oh and I gave a lot of my time over the years to helping SU alumni relations. All out of love for SU and nothing more.
A little history. This board was originally formed because of a bunch of not nice posters on the prior board, and a group separated out to form a nice and smart thinking board. Lately this board has some newer members (nothing worng with new members) that are more like the posters that many tried to escape from when this board was formed, and it is very frustrating for those who operated for more than a decade without the nasty comments.
The original poster about Syverud also appologized to me, and I appologized back. It is all very civil. I had taken what they said the wrong way. I just didn't remove my posts.
I had every intention of posting the entire Gill story and a number of long time posters now know that story.
I also realize that there are humans on the other side of this, and again, I will say that while the Gill family gave me permission to post everything that happened, I think it is wise to wait until he has played out the transfer portal and has signed a contract where he will be playing. The Gills are still navigating everything, and deserve the space for those decisions.

Anyone claiming llandz is being childish or snide needs to stop and reevaluate.

We are losing quality posters, both over the years and right now, because some people cannot handle not getting instant validation, full sourcing, or immediate confirmation. Instead, threads devolve into whining, accusations, and personal shots. That behavior drives contributors away.

Yes, it’s fair to want to know if information is legitimate. Everyone does. But demanding sources immediately and melting down when they aren’t provided is not productive. In many cases, the only way to judge information is to wait and see if it proves accurate.

I am not an insider, but I have been passed information over the years. I’ve chosen not to post some of it specifically because of the hostile “SOURCE?” pile-ons and unnecessary drama that routinely follow. That should tell you something.

This board works when people contribute in good faith and discuss information maturely. If you can’t do that, you’re part of the problem.

Thank you to everyone who continues to post responsibly and helps keep this place worth reading.

I was a poster (a long time ago) who questioned people’s sources and info and was searching more for a “why should I trust you or what you have to say?” Reasoning. Eventually I learned a pretty important rule.

We are not always entitled to the information we think we are. In cases like these (or several others) we are given some info, and our naturally curious brains are craving more to the story we have.

Just because you want something, doesn’t mean you are entitled to it. I want to date a super model, doesn’t mean I’m entitled to it.

The info we do get is a tease to some and extraordinarily precious to others. You don’t have to believe everything you read, but you are not always entitled to the “where it came from” either.

Two choices for anyone involved here:

1. Read what is posted and choose to accept the validity of it on your own.

2. Continue pressing others for info you aren’t entitled to and risk driving away board members or just convincing them never to share again.

So either let the bread crumbs be posted and give people a chance to get excited, or prevent those crumbs from ever existing in the future.

Your call.

I won't address each point but I get it and appreciate the insight. I remember you keeping us up to date on Jawhar Jordan and I LOVED his potential and appreciated the updates. The post in reference seemed out of character so I called it as i saw it. My 6 year old told me the other day I was being an angry jerk. Typically I'm pretty damn proud of the dad I am, but he was right in that moment. I appreciate the insight, and I think if anything this thread shows once again we all love and care about the team and the university. GO orange.

Jawhar was an interesting story I can now tell, He almost got caught with no school to transfer to. Of course this was before the portal. The problem was schools not having a scholarship available to offer him, and many wanted him to go as a walkon until a scholarship opened. And they all said, don't worry the scholarship will open in the spring or summer. But they did not want to take that risk. He was planning to go to another school that I don't remember, maybe Utah, but then Louisville called, and said we now have a scholarship for you, and off he went to Louisville.
I'm hoping to see him get some playing time tonight.
His family moved away from AZ after his sister graduated from U of A, and I am not really in touch with them anymore.

Texans ruled out RB Jawhar Jordan (ankle) for the Wildcard Round against the Steelers.
Jordan injured his ankle in Week 18 and failed to practice all week, eventually ruled out with the ailment. That leaves very little depth behind starting rookie Woody Marks, who could find himself in a workhorse role for the team’s Wildcard matchup against the Steelers. Nick Chubb appears likely to operate as the primary change of pace option while Dare Ogunbowale could rotate in on obvious passing situations.

I don't have any inside info on this one. But I am a businessman that negotiates deals.

Let's say I got into the NIL space and had a client who was a really good Tight End at a mid-market P4 team. And they really liked their school and weren't worried about money. But there was a 5 star Tight End coming and, while TE1 was likely, it could not be promised. Meanwhile, a factory P4 team comes along and offers more money and a guaranteed spot at TE1. I am going to advise that client--who would very much like to play on Sundays--that for *every* practical reason they should go. (And it doesn't hurt that I'd get more commission.)

I have no idea if that is what's going on here. It's probably not, I just made it up. But it's a plausible situation that checks all of the boxes we've been told, including why we should stop asking if we want him back.

llandz has been nothing but open and polite with all of us. We don't have to immediately understand everything and it's unfair to try and put that burden on her for trying to share what she can.

Oh, and Darrell, do what you gotta do man, but when you play on NBC? In the intros I really hope you say your school is Syracuse. 😀

Wish the young man well, but unless this was a school you graduated from it's OK to give the school you got drafted from.

I really don’t get the Sam Elliot love in this place. Can someone fill me in on what I missed? Did it all start with that Mullen thread?
have you seen him in Landman fighting death and the ravages of aging in only the way Mr. Sam Elliot can!

Hell he even got in a stadium brawl with some prison dude at a rodeo! God bless Sam Elliot to keep on keeping on!
