I have to say the limited info we get from the every other day media , and only ten minutes at that is not enough. Even my son gives my very vanilla stuff . Pretty much the D is getting the better of the O still ( they know the plays ) I can't stand not seeing it for myself! Anybody going to a practice?

we have a much better chance if the D has improved more than the offense . i think we know the offense can work if run correctly

Or is the O line a problem ?

I'd say short term, but yes. They're just all young. By the time TD has the QB job all to himself, I'd expect the OL to be more experienced, deeper, stronger.

It's one of the reasons I hope we're able to redshirt him. All the pieces just aren't yet in place. But they will be.

As for the D, nowhere to go but up. If they can stay healthier, it won't look nearly as bad as last year.

I don't expect it to be a strength but, if I'm not mistaken, it's most of the same guys from last year. Hopefully with another year of maturity, year two in the system, and maybe a redshirt freshman pushing for playing time it's better than last year.

My hope is that the O has made incremental improvement and the D is just competing that much better right now.

Just over 3 weeks and we'll know... kinda.

If DE is an issue and maybe losing another kid, would it make sense to put the 4 linebackers on the field and move Valdez up to the line in DE spot?

Re OLine if we again can't run the ball again between the tackles we're dead in the water. That's really the biggest issue with them. Improve that and we'll take off.

Have some new guys on the line that need to settle in and learn to work together. I'll make my way out on the ledge if we have trouble moving the ball early in September.

"Everyone thinks they know what happened to me," Dungey said, "but they're not doctors."

He said he could've played late in the season, and a second opinion from a non-SU doctor confirmed that belief after evaluating Dungey before Thanksgiving. But it wasn't enough for the team physician, Dr. James Tucker, to clear Dungey to play."

Hmmm...

People tend to forget that the offense is also replacing AET & Estime and the TEs. The replacements may eventually be OK (and Pierce an upgrade), but the replacements (Butler, Pierce, N. Johnson) are still relatively new to this offense.

Last year the whole TEAM was new to this offense

Okay maybe it's just me but the "shrugging emoticon" in the headline of the tweet is SO immature. Unreal. Let's just throw emojis in there next time. Pathetic
Was just about to post this. I'm rarely one to complain about trivial things but, I was stunned...are they serious?? Especially considering the subject matter. How juvenile & unprofessional.

Completely agree. Babers and the coaching staff have really done a commendable job upgrading the depth / talent at a number of positional units. But the ones that feel like we still have the furthest to go are definitely OL and DE. And the raw materials have begun to improve on OL, it just generally takes a bit longer for those guys to round into form and be ready to contribute than other positions.

Hopefully we start to see the benefits of these bigger, more athletic kids that Babers has brought in on OL in the near future. Have to improve up front for this offense to actualize it's potential.

If nothing else, the WRs are going to put up big numbers in this offense. AET was prolific, but I am not overly worried about replacing his production. Philips and N. Johnson (based on the little info we have) are going to present matchup problems, which means there might be a lot of 1 on 1 coverage on the vertical routes.

I think the key to the season on offense will have more to do with O line and the running game.
