We all know Fran’s story. Would not be surprised if he is the only P4 HC who had to go the JUCO route to play college football (and yes, it should be noted for Fran, this was driven by dollars, not grades).

If anyone can get a kid with a troubled background through JUCO and into Syracuse, and steer them to a successful football career and a good degree, it is Fran Brown. Would not be surprised if Fran knew both of these guys were unlikely to qualify but chose to offer them anyway, as a ways to help motivate them to step up and change their lives.

I hope these kids stick with it, finish HS strongly, do well at JUCO and in 2 years or so, find themselves enrolling at Syracuse. If not Syracuse, some other good school. Good luck to them.
