The Mass Exodus was probably prompted by me by information that Tommy Devitos dad said to me on here in private

He told me Tommy and several others were leaving unless “Dino could guarantee him some things”

This the 3rd or 4th time that Tommy's Dad has threatened to pull Tommy out of school?

I've lost count.

Lots of NIL opportunities at Farleigh Dickenson.

I have no inside info, but Tommy could have easily transferred after last season if he wanted guarantees or different opportunities. I'm guessing there is an issue with what Tommy was hearing in terms of opportunities outside of Syracuse versus where his dad thought his talents should afford him.

Also, is it odd that QB1 hasn't been a team captain this year?

I can tell you that Mr. DeVito has been rubbing coaches the wrong way since Tommy's recruitment which is unfortunate.

Leave, however my take is who really cares? There is probably 5 guys we would really hate to lose, TD is not one of them. And even if the handful leave that we all agree would be a massive loss, we were 1-10 last year probably no better then a three win team this year. Might show the Dino has lost team and program and prompt a overhaul of the whole thing.

Is that really true though? He seems to have the right attitude and say the right things to all the media spots and certainly appears to be a hard worker. Just guessing but I would think it has more to do with the fact the staff is unsure if he would be the starting QB all year so how can you make him captain??? His Dad seems to be a piece of work but i don't recall hearing anything negative about how Tommy has conducted himself.

Very disappointed in this development. I thought this kid was going to be very good and likely very soon. The comments about his heart not in it to play football anymore confuses me. How can you be an elite athlete like himself and not want to go out and play football? I know there could be reasons but its just hard for me to grasp a kid making that decision and just giving it up when its just about to get good for him. I mean we have a history of sending DB's to the NFL and with his athleticism I think he had a good shot.

Simmons has better instincts or more experience currently. But was not impressed with his speed. During that trick play by Ohio, their pocket passer qb basically pulled away from Simmons in a foot race.

Don't think anyone has said that but I think there are some that are hopeful. I would guess if he somehow loses his spot as QB1 then he will transfer.

Unfortunate, to lose such a good talent; unfortunately this is now the nature of college sports since the portal came into existing. Before that players had to work harder to gain their spots. I am not criticizing Ben but the unintended consequences of The NCAA’s lack of thinking things through before they act!
