Class of 2025 DE Javion Hilson (FL) Flipped from FSU to Missouri

Can we just add him to the long list now of 4-5 star defensive ends that we think we have a shot for but ultimately go elsewhere? Start the list from Ishaq Williams to present. It will save us the disappointment on 12/4.

I guess we always have a shot with Fran and if we could match NIL might be worth betting Fran to get him but this one feels all about the money.

And yes, KJE was the exception to this list that Fran was able to land for us.

He looks like a pretty skinny defensive end. Based on the offers no one cares, is he a kid who's going to eventually play at 240 and be lightning quick pass rusher? He doesn't look like someone who fits our current model.

They're a dumpster fire
I would have easily agreed with you 4-5 weeks ago.

But Napier has to some reasonable degree righted the ship and is snagging HS recruits (yes, with NIL help). Their freshman/sophomore laden roster is hanging in there and they are gonna be bowl eligible despite one of the hardest schedules in CFB history. They have a difference maker at QB (DJ Lagway), with whom they were beating UGA when he went down with a hammy injury last month in Jacksonville.

Napier is going to be back in 2025 and I sense he has a real shot to survive longer term if these younger players continue to develop.

I'd guess they grab this Hilson kid. I hope note, but it makes sense.

No idea on the accuracy but he's listed at 6'5" and 235 lbs and its just the beginning of his Senior year of HS. No reason to think he isn't going to gain at the very least a little bit more muscle. He likely won't be too small but yes we need some bigger DE's as well.

Napier wasn't fired only because they don't have the money to do so.

In their last 5 games, they're 2-3 and only beat a bad LSU and a bad UCF team.

On the other hand, Lagway looks like a star and their schedule has been horrific, they have rebounded well. players have continued to play hard for Napier. Their schedule next year is brutal again so that will be interesting

“It’s hard to ignore what Napier has been building over the last six weeks, and how it’s now clearly coming into focus. The Gators should’ve beaten Tennessee in Knoxville (lost in overtime), and – but for an injury to quarterback DJ Lagway – could’ve beaten Georgia earlier this month.”

if he’s chasing money gonna be hard to compete with Michigan. I assume we will be happy just to be named in the final group and won’t win this one.

What’s the fascination with Michigan besides NIL? they won a companionship last year with like 80 seniors on the team & a different head coach. They’re a sinking ship ready to implode

I hope it's an indication of things to come because that is a deflated football

Visiting Missouri this weekend. The analysts can’t even get a good read on him as he’s all over the place. NIL most certainly is going to play a big part in how this one finishes.
