Class of 2025 DE Quante Gillians (NY) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (6/16/24)

So Cuse is now at 32 commits. I understand the rules have changed with regards to commitments but that does not erase the practicalities of the matter. They are still going to need to sign transfers etc. in order to compete. How are they going to keep all these kids happy? I would rather they take good players than pass but what is the end game here? (I am asking out of genuine curiousity and a lack of understanding of how this could all play out.)

The scholarship limit is increasing which is good for developmental guys so long as you keep the right ones. On top of that there will be departures. Some planned some not. Can’t keep everyone. If a guy wants to chase money, we will never be the top dollar.

Shouldn't be a problem.

I've been getting up at 5 Dark Thirty every morning since Daylight Savings Time switched.

Whether I want to or not.
OX you have earned the right to stand by the fax and join the team celebrations

Yeah, these things always sort themselves out.

There will be players leaving too

There's always attrition. Some players will get homesick and want to move to a program closer to home. Some will decide that they want to transfer down a level to chase PT.

We'll also have an unexpected academic casualty, or two.

And Fran might give a few players "the talk."

But the numbers always work themselves out. They do every year.

and there may a few who leave for more money too. You have to plan for attrition now. Unavoidable.

Also, as history has shown us, no way all that all 32 of those kids end up making it to campus.

To be honest, at those positions, if they were good enough this year they would've played. Still gotta earn your minutes.
Did you see my message I shot you about the QB being in the portal or someone we already have?
