SU by far has faced the most pass attempts against. Thing is they are 37th in comp % allowed, 45th in yds per att. 63rd in qb rating against, tied 44th in int with 3. They have given up 9 tds, which is 122nd and only have 4 sacks with all of those drop backs.

It’s not awful, certainly not close to what it looks like just looking at yds allowed, but if teams are going to throw it 50 times a game, you would hope it would lead to more sacks and ints.

SU actually had the best pass defense performance against UT and UConn. Clemson had their best day but it came with 61 attempts attached in catch up mode where SU was determined not to give up a quick score and had a 20 pt lead until late.

Colgate not great in the 2nd half, a lot of rotation, skews the numbers.

I think our defense has definitely stepped it up from last season. Duke will give us problems though surely.

Fran mentioned in his press conference that Samuel’s will get more snaps on offense and they will be increasing that for the rest of the season.

Curious if they will spell his defensive snaps to accommodate. Presume Kerr is coming off kick return and thus will get more run on defense

I am excited to see Samuels on offense he’s explosive and brings something to the WRs corps we spot have.
Well I think we have plenty of explosive Wideouts just currently don't have a QB to get them the ball. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him used on jet sweeps, end around, and possibly even wildcat under center. We've all heard Fran talk about different QBs playing this week but that doesn't mean folks taking snaps will only be from the QB room. We can put Villari back there again as QB, HB or FB and run triple option with any mixture of other players. Hell give me the Rhino cat with Villari under center, Jobity at FB and Yas at HB and watch defenders fly backwards like Tecmo Super Bowl against Christian Okoye or Tom Rathman

I agree — hopefully Carney plays and can get the ball to playmakers like JRS, Samuels, Cook, Johnson, Dan, and Gill. We’ve got the best wide receivers in the conference, but the worst quarterback situation in the country. I’m ready to see a new QB step in. Honestly, I’m already looking forward to next year with that loaded 2026 class coming in to fill some major holes on this team. I just hope we can keep the roster together this time and not lose a bunch of young talent to the portal like last year — players like Watson and Barnes would’ve made a big difference this season.

Watson yes... Barnes wouldn't have started over Peal or Samuel. Barnes had 0 picks last year and has 1 this year against the worst qb in the p4.

W Pickie it wouldn’t matter if we fielded Moss, Rice, monk, Ocho, Fitzgerald, ……
Well actually, they'd have long ago stomped him out on the sideline or in the huddle. I haven't seen a WR core this dejected since Tommy D threw everything 5 yards out of bounds. It's tough to run routes consistently every play knowing the QB either won't see you or throw it near you
