Depth Chart / Injury Updates for Wake

Outside of a few changes, this has been basically the same depth chart all season.
Dino probably assigns this task to a Graduate Assistant coach.

Exactly. Nothing to see here at this point.

if the kid doesnt want to go to school for 5 yrs then saving a yr means nothing.. he could also RS a different yr. He started a yr late so maybe he doesnt need/want the 5th yr. not every kid wants to go to grad school.

Kids change their minds daily

If Jordan plays, it’s because the kid wanted to. Coaches give kids a say in these things.
Which is fine. And fair.

But you HAVE to find that out well before this point, and suit him up accordingly.

I'm not saying I'm off the Dino train if Jordan plays Saturday, but I would lose confidence in his abilities to manage a roster if he does.

I'm dying to ask his mom. I was dying to all day Saturday. But that is a line I am not going to cross. It is a decision that I do not need to know about. But don't forget he started college late because of the course snafu,, and he still came to SU which almost never happens. he started at SU last January. I am guessing he will be done in 3 years have a masters degree in year 4, so what will he do in year 5? I don't know how smart he is, but his sister plans on going to med school.

And Dr. Jordan is in for the touchdown! :)

He's proven that he can make a difference, so if he wants to play, I understand from his perspective.

But again, if that's the case the staff needed to identify this sooner and use him when it could have mattered. Playing him in a 5th game after we've been eliminated from bowl contention is idiocy.

Yeah I gotta be honest, this weekend should be playing the 2 deeps on the depth chart that you won’t burn their redshirts.

see what you have in the stables and what we have to work with next season.

Tommy should be sitting to start the process of him healing up for next season and anyone that is borderline unhealthy

This game is a de facto preseason game for next year.

Play him!!! Give me a reason to come to this game.I'm not worried about 3 years down the road right now.

Agreed, like Bees said to he probably has some say in the matter and if after 4.5 years at Syracuse he leaves with a bachelors or even a masters then what else is he suppose to do? If he's good enough to ever play in the NFL then that will be known after 4 years here not 5 which would be 6 years post high school. I would play the kid as well if he wants to play. I don't think it's a big deal or a pro or con towards Dino in anyway

and maybe a 24 year old 6th year senior with not much shot at the NFL may not want to get geared up for one more season training camp etc.

It's not a big deal really

Everything you said is reasonable, except that the last game of the season when you are already ineligible for a bowl is not the time to burn the shirt.

If he wasn't going to redshirt his playing time was completely mishandled this season, full stop.

This shouldn't be excused. It's poor roster management and mishandling one of the most promising athletic talents that has been in our program in decades. We can't complain about depth and in the next breath say that this is ok.

Agreed 144%.

Either we should have played him more and earlier, like the other guys who have already played 5+ games, OR we play him in 4 ONLY. Full stop.

Even IF he "wasn't ready" to get much more time at RB, there's no reason that he couldn't have been handling returns sooner - especially since Riley and Nykeim have been incredibly underwhelming in that department this year.
(ditto for their play at WR).

While we can always use more playmakers on the field, RB is probably our deepest position.
I'd rather see Adams, Jarveon, and Markenzy (and others) get PT, and have Jawhar doing anything else other than checking into this game.

Yup. The time to have decided to burn his redshirt option was going into NC State. The season wasn't determined yet at that point, and there were enough games left to make him part of the plan where he could have made a difference.

But we didn't.

After seeing his in game coaching strategy lately, I have NO reason to believe Dino won't do something idiotic and burn JJ's RS. I'd be incredibly ticked.

JJ has no reason to even suite up for the game.

I was at the game on Saturday. The safety who kept getting burned is most definitely not graduating...

Cisco at least has substantial potential to benefit from scheme change, which we NEED.

Cordy and Foster are replaceable in every facet of their respective games. I thought Coley was better than both the entire year, I also feel like Stritz earned his shot last year.

His name’s on the depth chart to force Clawson to game plan for his speed. Any effort we can make to have the opposing coach spend time planning for something that wont happen is valuable.

Yup. That'll swing the game.

Edited to add: That snarky comment isn't a commentary on your post, more about how dumb the coaching profession seems to be.

Does his name rhyme with this:?

after the embarrassing commentary that Dino put forth saying the Louisville guys were too fast for ours to run with, I suppose our staff needs every advantage they can get

Between that and not having tape for games this year, we're far off from the halftime speeches in previous years.

a Hs coach who sits in the end zone told me that while Cisco is a great ball hawk and hits pretty good, he’s the weakest one in the backfield at coverage.
