Depth Chart / Injury Updates for Wake

a Hs coach who sits in the end zone told me that while Cisco is a great ball hawk and hits pretty good, he’s the weakest one in the backfield at coverage.
Don’t get me wrong, im not overly impressed with Cisco either. I just think there’s a stronger argument for him to be on the field that cordy’s and foster’s combined

coaches love cordy. He’s their utility guy who can play every position back there. DB, nickel, SS, FS. Someone is hurt or tweaks something, he can fill in. His biggest drawback is his height.

Just use some well-placed body paint for Jordan. Can't burn his shirt on Saturday if he's not wearing one!

I was at the game on Saturday. The safety who kept getting burned is most definitely not graduating...

You are completely correct. Had this conversation on Saturday. Cisco can find the ball, but he's not good in coverage.

He must not have seen Foster play then. More often than not it's Foster biting on play action and getting beat over the top. If we're talking about straight man cover skills I'd agree. If we're talking about the discipline of playing the position I wouldn't.

Between that and not having tape for games this year, we're far off from the halftime speeches in previous years.

you've pretty well worn the tape thing out.

Did you not see who kept getting beat deep playing single high on Saturday?

He was picked on relentlessly in ACC games this year. If he’s our utility man we need to replace our recruiters.

after the embarrassing commentary that Dino put forth saying the Louisville guys were too fast for ours to run with, I suppose our staff needs every advantage they can get
That is a great question. When was the last time the SU football program had a true advantage in anything?

He sometimes looks like he doesn't want to hit, particularly late in games

unless Jordan doesn’t care about redshirting
You seem to be the only reasonable person on the subject. The coaches screwed up in not finding ways to play Jordan. If he wants to play he should. The blame is on the coaches.

I really didn’t notice which is a good thing. I know there was a game where they got a pass over his head into the receivers hands a couple times.

Yeah. That's kind of my whole point. He already been here since winter semester and will most likely get 4 years in even if he proves to be good enough to play in the NFL as he will most likely graduate and take that spring semester off of his senior year. He may not want to be a 24 year old 6th year senior more or less. Some kids may say it's the NFL or I will take my degree(s) and move on after 4.5 years at Syracuse and 6 months after high school to Syracuse. If he redshirts that would put him at 5.5 years at Syracuse may not be what he wants.

The athlete does have some input like you said Bees... it does get old after a while for some and running back age factors into equation. I am sure if he plays people will flip out but it's just not that cut and try.

With regard to this year who is to say when Jordan was actually ready to play? In addition he wouldn't be the first true frosh that the masses yammered for as the next can't miss prospect that a couple years from now is just another guy who contributes to the program but certainly not a generational player.

They have several bigger issues for sure

Cisco is good at coming in and solid at side to side but needs to improve his footwork/hips on the longer coverage stuff.

I guess my big issue is that if we are/were going to burn the redshirt, why not get him more involved in the offense through the year. We have other RB's and I get that, I would have expect Neal and AA to play, so no issues with that. Especially at the start of the year. But damn, he looked good on returns and Riley has been pretty poor all season.

He doesn’t flip hips too quickly I noticed

I was really dumbfounded that Cisco in man coverage Saturday against a very fast Atwell who was running a post route right from the snap waited for Atwell to get right to him before he turned his hips and started to run with him. That was horrible technique for a high school freshman, not a sophomore All American with 24 college games under his belt. That high school coach is correct, Cisco is a big liability in coverage. I would really like to have seen Cam Jonas this year. Even Devon Clarke. These two guys got no playing time and despite the hype the both get, Cisco and Foster are not that good.

Babers is the adult-He has to think down the road and redshirt him. You can't expect a College Freshman to always see the big picture.
Will be shocked if he plays.

I Dino plays Jordan we need to buy him a side of beef, buy him the biggest grill this side of Martins home town in Texas and kick his La Familia all the way to Ohana.
