I am big Desko fan but some of the decisions this year are baffling.

He runs Williams into the ground despite having Paduda yet hes subbing the first mid line like is May 28th and 92 degrees out. The third quarter SU had the second and third mid lines out there multiple times despite the offense grinding to a halt every time, why? Do we really need the third mid line? How many times do we need to see Westin and Simmons pass the ball around aimlessly and the shot clock come on. We should have been riding the first mid line most of the second half. I am all about building depth but the 2nd and 3rd mid line guys are useless at this point. Why not let Voight, and or Shewell get some run on the second mid line, it can't possibly be any worse then what were getting now. I still find it hard to believe one of the frosh middies can't burn a shirt and be better then what we have at this point. Again free Romano.

On the personnel end how many times do we have to watch Evans and Ciferri struggle before a switch is made? We finally went to D'agostino late but Ciferri has been a weak spot for nearly a month now. Evans is what he is at this point. Shewell and Thorpe or the kid from Georgia, need to see some more burn, Evans again had multiple turnovers and an offsides. Piroli at 80% is better then what we have, he needs to play. It will also allow Barber to get back to middie where he belongs. You can see why Desko took that attack transfer form Holy Cross, we need high end players on offense desperately.

Kudos to Mellen, Mullins, Grimm, Fusco, Firman and others on D, an impressive performance that was undermined by the offense and turnovers.

jordan evans had that nice traffic goal in front early but also again some crazy to's.just seems to play like he's wearing handcuffs. mckinney also needs a bit more seasoning. good size player but not quite ready. our offensive strength seems to be the outside rifles of dejoe, barber, and salcido and kd and mariano dipping inside.
grimm will be missed when he graduates. under appreciated for his short stick D.

The ironic part is that for the last 3 years the missing piece has been outside shooting, we finally get it but now our inside offense is gone. Lax gods having fun with us. Piroli is the only other seasoned attack men who can dodge besides Donahue, Evans simply can't do it. Barber can but it's not his strong suit

Need Piroli back in the worst way.
I don't know the nature of his injury, but the fact he's wearing a brace isn't good news. Seems chronic.

I think if you go back to when he was first hurt, Desko said they hoped to have him back by the NCAA. Clearly, a problematic knee injury.

After the game, Desko said Piroli, a transfer from Brown, is out "momentarily.'' Desko said he's not sure when Piroli will return but said he doesn't think the player is out for the season.

Desko said attack Nick Piroli, who missed the Albany game, remains out with an unspecified ailment. Piroli was the player Barber replaced on attack, moving up from midfield. Beyond the Army game, Desko said Piroli is week to week.

Looks like Desko hoped to have Piroli back in a few weeks. He never implied that it would be a 2-3 month injury.

Definitely a long term injury, its been well over a month and hes still not back.

Your right but when he wasn't back for St. Johns I think it was clear it was worse then he was letting on.

He was in uniform and warmed up before St Johns.

He was in uniform today and warmed up. In fact, he was out early helping the goalies get warmed up.

IMO, if it was really bad, they wouldn't have had him sit on a bus for 7 hours, stand outside today in the freezing cold, just to take another 7 hour bus ride back. They would have left him home.

They need him back before the tourney so he can develop some chemistry.

I bet he's back next week. If not, by the ND game.

Your confusing what I mean. I meant much worse then the initial diagnosis of a few weeks. We're 5 weeks post injury and he's still out. It's clear he's close or closer to returning which is why I really thought he was going to play.
