Yea he hasn’t played ball in 2 years and was thrown in that situation with no feel for the game or warm up into that point what did you expect?

Well, it comes from the same coach that throws a punter in who’s never punted, at an important part of the game, against a team that likes to pressure punts, oh and in bad field position.

BS media question on whether Dino needs to name a starter at QB to elicit a dramatic headline, which they received.

He should have said I'm doing everything I can in practice and in games, when I'm given the opportunity, to lead this team to victory.

He got baited and the headline is stupid.

Its all gotten ridiculous. The adults on this board crucifying this kid on the daily over his family, his work ethic, his attitude, every throw he makes, etc. are getting ridiculous.

I would hope that people start thinking a little more before they post the personal attacks masked as football analysis. Its enough man.
I agree. Personally, I would just like Dino to be a big boy and make a decision about who the starter is and live with it. If there needs to be an adjustment at the QB position he will know and the fan base will know.

I'm going to cut Tommy some slack here. To me, this is a lot of pressure to put on TD and GS in terms of having to answer these types of questions because Dino has basically punted on making a decision or outlining a specific way he is going to use a two-QB system.

I'm not sure what Tommy is supposed to respond with when he gets asked a follow up pressing him harder on starting.

I think GS should get the nod, but the longer this drags out with Dino not giving specifics for a two-QB system or making a choice, the harder on both TD and GS (and, honestly, the rest of the players).

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if some reporter or even fan on Twitter got one of these guys to just let loose with an answer that really shouldn't be public. You get asked enough times when you are frustrated... it's easy to lose focus.
This ^^^^

If you mention padding stats that’s excessive I agree, I do not feel once that Tommy isn’t doing what he believes is right to win a football game. But us criticizing his play because we are a D1 football program (big boy stuff, so like college kids have to take a lot of pressure as this is what they signed up for), there’s no issue in that. He literally is not a good D1 QB and that has nothing to do with him as a person and I bet 99% of ppl here agree. It really does come down to the fact our coach doesn’t realize this though. He isn’t going to win us games

Remember that Directional Michigan game where Dungey was taken out, the offense sputtered, the D collapsed, and then Dungey was put back in? That guy came in like Road Warrior Animal after a hot tag and laid waste to everyone in his path. I mean he was literally out of control, but he single-handedly curb stomped Directional Michigan and won the game for us.

Tommy just couldn't possibly recover from being out for a series, though.

That's pretty much where we're at these days.
The thing is vs Rutgers Tommy was perfectly fine his 1st two drives after going back in. It wasn't until drives 3-7 that he stunk it up.

Fair.

Agree with all that

Funny thing is if Marrone came back I think he would go 2010 O (especially with no WRs) and want Tommy as his QB. Marrone would want an arm to make all the required throws. Shrader would be out for sure. Since Tommy would only be managing the game like Nassib did, he would probably be better under Marrone as well.

Remember when 1/3 of the board was like DeViTo oVeR dUnGeY… Dungey had to sit at times for “performance” and Scooch is 100% correct, he came back in and punched people in the mouth.

This has no real relevance other than I enjoyed watching the Dungey version of us much better.

Tommy’s quote was weird, “you” did everything necessary except win last week. It’s about winning. It’s always been about winning. It will always be about winning.

Probably question framing and all that, it just hit me the wrong way. He’s a good kid, always has been, just don’t think he’s a very good quarterback.

I feel like there’s something to that, too. It goes back to never forcing throws, I think that’s odd behavior in a QB. No risk taking at all?
