"gamers" dumb? Eric Dungey and the 2018 team that stomped WVU would disagreeThis “gamers” thing is so dumb

The same 4th quarter where we ran a 2 minute drill by completing ~4 yard passes underneath the coverage and draining the clock?you tell me where he made a mistake before the 4th quarter?
he completed passes to 7 different guys.
Bingo!...TD plays with a personal stats first and winning second mindset. What was TD doing on that last drive, who cares that rutgers is playing prevent, it's under 2 min we are down 10 without TO's throw the ball down the field and at a minimum give your self a chance. Just my opinion but he plays afraid to put up bad numbers, he'd rather take those short passes underneath and pad his stats then sling it and let the chips fall where they may.
Great points with one correction...this is his 5th year in the program.I really don't know what to make of Tommy in Year 4. I honestly thought he had the potential to surprise us and have a rock solid Nassib/2012-esque senior year.
That deep ball he threw to Taj in stride was gorgeous. And there were times yesterday when the offense looked like it was really clicking and moving the chains like 2017-2018.
It always feels like he has a knack for making devastating mistakes in the most critical situations. When we had a chance to score against Clemson in the Dome in 2019 he threw an INT worse than anything Nunes ever did. I remember him throwing a horrific pick at Maryland as well. That fumble yesterday was basically the nail in our coffin.

Btw, I've never liked HCDB's offensive scheme, especially with TD under center.
That “gamer” attitude also cost us multiple games as he got himself injured pretty much every year he playedYou don’t get it clearly. Devito came in highly touted, while we were Dungeys best offer. When watching Dungey play he made gutty plays, and had a knack for putting his team on his back and gutting out runs and throws etc. even when it meant putting his body on the line, that’s a GAMER. Devito is the opposite. He has no feel for anything. Just a fact. Watched him play the same way for 5 years
Ive said this for two years and got crucified every time for saying it
TD was only looking to be drafted and wanted/wants to pad the stats.

I question his neck health. I don't think I've ever seen him look one way, then look the other. If he looks left off the snap, he throws left, and vice versa.I was watching Devito on last few drives looking right holding ball and NEVER looking to his left .. you need to watch the whole field ..
Definitely fair, I dont think he does it because he thinks doing so will get him to the NFL, however what do you think is the reason he does stuff like this?In my opinion, to think that a P5 QB in an in-game situation is worrying about personal stats is a ridiculous take. That he was/is looking to play in the NFL is a dream of every player and not a game day problem.

Last year as a 4th year guy he ran out of bounds behind the line of scrimage multiple times giving his line a sack instead of throwing the ball away, tended to swallow the football instead of take shots, and so far this year has shown to be just as risk adverse, running 4 yard check downs sub 2 min with 0 time outs screams something is wrong for a 5th year senior starting QB. It all seems unacceptable to me for a QB1.
If this is how he really feels then he either is not watching film after the game or truely believes DB will never replace him.
Weird statement. This year is his worse passer rating of his career. His completion % is lower than in 2019. This year is his worst YPA of his career. He has no TDs. He has led us to only 34 points combined in 2 games. On the positive side he is getting sacked less times per attempt (still high though) than in prior years and he is running for more yards.
umm, that's an opinion...
Makes him sound as delusional as his father, but probably not coming across as he intended. If this is how he really feels then he either is not watching film after the game or truely believes DB will never replace him.
I remember his HS senior season and that was a bit of a red flag to me, dotcom did an article about him and his team had a really poor record and he had stats that were nothing special. I'm sure him and dad blamed his teammates and coaches like they always do but it seems to be a trend with TD. Watching that last drive was so infuriating to me, we are down 10 no timeouts and under 2 min and tommy is throwing 4 yard passes to the backs so his stats look good.Ive said this for two years and got crucified every time for saying it

BS media question on whether Dino needs to name a starter at QB to elicit a dramatic headline, which they received.
You beat me too it, I was just gonna put delusional in all caps as my response, absolutely unbelievable. At some point everyone involved here should acknowledge that a divorce would benefit all parties, they gave it everything they had but it just didn't work.Makes him sound as delusional as his father, but probably not coming across as he intended.
Here's the thing though... DeVito was moving the ball pretty well before he was taken out.
He played very poorly down the stretch. But it's not impossible to think that if we hadn't given Shrader those three series and just hung with DeVito that we would have moved the ball more.
Maybe we break through for some scores and take control of the game, and the late yips don't become a factor.
Either way, at this point, there's bad juju around DeVito. There just is. Kind of like when we had to look to Paulus to make plays late in games.
