Devo claims Red and GMac would switch to man

Back when I was able to get into practices, they used to run the fast break drills toward the beginning of every practice.
How long ago? And were they serious about it or was it more a part of warmups? There are serious drills and there are half-arsed 2 on 1 drills with a matador playing defense.

Running the break is a philosophy and it can be done out of any defense, as long as you practice it. And there's the rub. It doesn't appear that SU practices fast breaks, because we're not very good at them. When you have an odd man break, it should always result in an easy layup/dunk or an open 3. It should never result in a one on two contested layup attempt.
Of course, it's just that's the best part of the zone in my opinion. It generates a lot of steals and turnovers when it is clicking and that was the best part of the SU offense. But after Ennis, JAB turned it into this low-tempo slow-down slog.

My recollection is SU played a pretty slow tempo with Ennis at PG, especially later in the season. That Dayton game had such a slow pace, it was awful.

If Gerry or Red are worthy of the SU job than they can clearly land one of the other 365 D1 head coaching positions this offseason. Win some games somewhere else and they are front runners for when the job likely reopens in 3 years.

Looking forward to playing man in the future so we can start pitching shutouts again.

Average points per game in the NCAA is 68, we are giving up 71 (average 74).

We need better players.

If Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and I are in the same room, we have an average net worth in the many billions.

It's the players, it's just about always the players.

The GM part of the job has been where JB hasn't had it over the last ten years.

Sorta sucks that Bezos brings down the average.

Who cares?

Are we so crappy as a program that we can't even get someone who has been a head coach before?

I mean, COME ON PEOPLE!!!

You act like a bunch of abused spouses with the comments I read on here - Boeheim STILL deserves to name his departure date, we couldn't possibly get a good coach who has any experience. Why would anyone come coach us?

What the hell is wrong with you all? WAKE UP.

We have made the Final Four for 5 decades in a row. We didn't have a losing season for 46 years. We have guys in the Hall of Fame, we have players in the NBA.

We're not in our glory right now, but we are still a Top 20 program in America.
Ur 100 percent correct with a chance of having the number 1 attendance with a winning coach again.

It was 10-20 years ago. So, I haven't seen a practice in a long time. But I will bet it's pretty similar, because it's still the same guy in charge.

PA/G: 71.4 (227th of 363)

We're not average

Also, in conf play, we're giving up 73 a game.
35.7 from 3 in conf.

never once seen a pickup game with kids playing zone defense. every player on this team can play man 2 man.
that we never switch except for down 20 trunk monkey is all on Boeheim.
he sold his soul and tied his coaching legacy to the zone years ago and is now too stubborn to admit it's failures.

I don't think we know that. They haven't been drilled on the defense. They probably wouldn't be real good but let's fact it, they don't play zone very well either.
Dash, you should know better, the team plays MTM 90% of the time in practice.
