I was heartened to see him back at work. There are so many commentators who try to force a schtick or use the platform to sh** on the product to the point where one wonders if they even like what they do. He exudes joy.
That being said, his voice today was rough and I doubt it'll get much better as he continues to age. I wouldn't want him calling a game with real stakes, at least not without a third guy. I think one game a week between two good but not elite teams with a big audience like today is the sweet spot.
