I missed postgame stuff. Looking at it I can't tell if it was a perfect accident or some incredible giant point guard miracle

So you are saying he could be Boeheims next point guard?

I think it was just a good hustle play by Raymon and it also looked like he hurt his arm or shoulder trying to grab the football. Nice to see a bounce like that happen in our favor.

Correct. Zero chance he was flipping it. He had no idea who was behind him. Great hustle play though

No. Even though the TV announcer reported that he did. Raymon was aggressively all out reaching for the ball with his left arm/hand to try to control it. His action caused the ball to bounce up and Robinson immediately caught it "on the fly."

Great all out hustle and fumble recovery attempt by Raymon.

Even better reaction by Robinson - play of the year so far.

Watch the replay he actually lifts the ball up ... that was intentional ... you even catch Raymon looking back towards Robinson as he does it. It was so quiet there Robinson was probably screaming to him as he came up from behind and Raymon easily heard him.

If that's the case, he has to be down.

i get what you are saying, but i think the motion was made with the intent to grab and scoop, and the speed of which he did it created the flip. If he did intend to flip it, it was an incredibly dumb play, there was no way he new it would make it to a Cuse player.

It might look a little like he scooped it back, but there is absolutely no way that scooping it backwards was his intention.

No I disagree because of the way he rotates the shoulder flipping the ball upwards ... he is falling on his face and usually the intent is to land on and smother the ball. Raymon actually forces a lifting action on it, if he were trying to scoop the ball would have pushed forward ...

accidently bounced it off the ground. i'll take it though

I don't know what to tell you. if your theory is correct it was a stupid play, that ended up in the hands of an SU player luckily. My opinion remains that the play happened so quickly that Raymond reached for the ball and tried to corral it while hitting the ground awkwardly and getting hurt.

He was trying to cup the ball and pull it in as he was diving. His momentum and the weight of his arm caused the ball to bounce up - unintentionally.

In this sequence the ball NEVER leaves his hand ... it isn't bouncing and the rotation of the arm leads to a backwards flip of the football. The ball is in his hand the entire time ... not once do you see it bouncing off the field. In the initial shot he even has his hand under it to start the shovel.

There's no way anyone can convince me he did that on purpose. Fortuitous bounce for us.

Again where is the bounce? Does he or does he not have the ball in his hands flicking it backwards? He literally is shoveling it backwards .. where does that ball "bounce" in that set of images? And again a guy falling forward with his momentum has an arm completely outstretched to grab the ball and somehow recoil and rotate his shoulder counterclockwise while palming a ball behind him? OK ... if that thing flipped forward fine ... but he is literally completely laid out in the first image and somehow is able to draw his arm in and rotate it and flick the ball backwards on a bounce ... got it.
