Dino Babers Recruiting

basically i do not disagree. however the people u name, are they not shafer guys? u r right re ishmal, but the most underutilized was strickland. as for crush expectations---what does that mean??? expect what, 3* mac guys???i am in the guys corner, but don't sell me a bill of rah rah goods as we have heard all this before. otherwise we will talk again in a couple of years. lets see who he brings in. that's my backup, what is yours???? i would be more than happy to say babers is the savior. as i said wait and see---and i hope...

well i just gave you my back up, but to add on...

Where are you getting this MAC guy stuff from? Sure we have flipped a couple MAC guys, and looking at a few other, but these are some of the better players in a pretty damn good conference. You don't think a MAC all-star team could play with, or beat a middle of the pack P5 program? Regardless, these are guys that Babers obviously likes, and it's still not much more then a handful. Now as for the recruits that back up my stance.

Ruff - Flipped from ACC program UVA
Cooper and Riley - 2 Arizona commits we have on campus right now. Both top 10 athletes in California.
Fitzpatrick - 4 star recruit with, who was a long time Louisville commit
Reese - 4 star, top 300 Offensive Lineman. 6'6, 335lbs. Is a back up plan for FSU, and has the most impressive offer list of any player who has committed to us in the past 10 years.
Hamilton - Former Miami commit, and 100m champion in Florida...If that doesn't say enough he tops Scott Frost's wish list over at UCF. Pretty amazing highlight tape.
Moran - 4 star RB recruit, who is starting to seem more of a back up plan now that we have such high quality of recruits interested at the position.
Bodner - Speaking off. Big time RB recruit out of Illinois. Was he Illinois POY? I forget if he was or not, but either way he still has legit P5 interest, and could be the top back up plan for Wisconsin. If Wisconsin wants a kid at RB, then I want him.

Now I am sure I am missing some kids, but those are probably the top uncommitted recruits we have a legit shot at signing. I know there is a long way to go, and the only one currently locked up is Ruff, but to come in and quickly get involved with such a high quality of talent I think it means good things for the future. Those are all 4 star recruits, or recruits of other P5 programs, who many would agree have been better then us the past decade or so. I think it should also be noted that all of these guys are on the offensive side of the ball. I don't think it's a coincidence that almost every one of our top targets is one the side of the ball where Babers has made a name for himself. I think that bode wells for the future, and the quality of kid that he can attract to the program.

Let's first see how many of these guys commit. And to be fair, Moran was first offered by the previous regime and was setting up a visit with them as well. That being said, it would be great if we could wrap up a number of these guys. Regarding Reese, we had a guy named Washington committed to us who had a pretty impressive list of offers as well.

it is about folks declaring HIM a savior is the issue ---u are right-- so why do people say he is great??? stop with the orange bs and wait and see---stop with setting up unrealistic expectations---start with OBJECTIVITY---AND TIME.

I don't see many people saying he is savior? I just thought it was worth defending him from a unsubstantiated cheap shot stating all he is recruiting are MAC guys.

You talk wait and see, but you, yourself isn't waiting, and seeing.

I am well aware, I was using those guys as examples, of talented, non MAC guys

Nice recap. Your thoughts about the offensive recruits are my concern as well. Getting P5 offensive recruits and MAC level defensive worries me a little. Ruff being the exception. Hope we can get solid players across the board.

Too early to be worried, IMO. We'll get a better idea next year.

Btw, I'd prefer Bodnar at S as we are recruiting other RBs, and we already have some talent at that position. Let's just lock him up first!
