Dino Babers

It's a cult, according to Dino. You can't bring in too many newbies at one time and maintain the cult the way it has been.

I agree with the cult thing...on the offensive side of the ball. Don't buy it on defense or all the staff/administrative people. I just expected more on the defensive side and some staff/admin holdovers.

To answer the OP...

Every job is a stepping stone to another. But hopefully the AD can make it lucrative so that HCDB will want to stay when the time comes.

But if he replicates his success at BG i.e. Ten win seasons and winning a conference title, I'll drive him to his job interviews.

I know we can't look into the future, but do you think Syracuse is a stepping stone hire for Syracuse? If he is successful here, do you think we are a desirable enough school for him to coach at or will he leave if a bugger school such as Oregon, OSU, FSU, or other big name schools want to hire him?

I know many of us think SU is a stepping stone. If my memory is correct, coach P and Boeheim were offered other positions and stayed, so don't be so sure Dino will leave.

Dino is 54 and he will be 58 or so when he has a proven track record at SU. I don't think he will be a hot property at that age for many schools. I also think that if he is happy here and we are competitive with money (not necessarily the highest) this will be his last job.

There aren't a lot of Jim Boeheims these days.
