Dino's Game 4 Press Conference | Army

Back to the tea leaves - I fear the injury bug has bitten again, and Dino’s not happy about it.
We are all too close to it but we get decimated with injuries every year. Is this normal for CFB teams? I guess the difference is that very good or great teams have the depth to overcome. Is this the year we finally have the depth to overcome?

Are you a CNY’er? Because he’s never spoke for me.
Yes, I am a central New Yorker, but have lived in San Diego the last 20 years. I love Axe’s passion and enthusiasm for Syracuse sports. Yes, I know he has strong opinions, but he’s not afraid to ask the tough questions to the point of being critical of leadership, including JAB and Dino. I find this to be authentic and refreshing.

Imo he speaks his mind in an entertaining and informative way. This is what I like about his style of journalism.

I disagree, I think he hasn’t had an original thought in his life , thinks he is cutting edge with his negative and often poorly thought out rants , and he is not, and referring to a class act like coach P as a baffoon on the radio told me a long time ago what I needed to know about him, and he hasn’t changed.

all his stuff about Boeheim that got him fired from the radio show was spot on correct and was exactly what fans were speaking. I lost all respect for that station and its Kremlin radio stance.
Kremlin radio stance? I don't live in CNY anymore, but what exactly does this mean?

Well, his style of journalism does elicit a response from his listeners, both positive and negative. I personally like his style, but I can see how others don’t like the negativity. I look at it as honesty and authenticity.

I don’t have a long history of listening to Axe, but did begin tuning about 3 years ago

People can like what they want, but he's not a journalist. He's a commentator. There's a big difference.

From a technical stand point, Axe is pretty pedestrian. His intros and teases were garbage and he never had enough content to actually fill his show, always repeated segments and rambled to the point of monotony. I am sure he isnt a bad guy but he is not a good radio host. Appears that lack of polish is working its way into his presser questions

Yeah I think the guy is just a hack, his career is also going in the wrong direction might be an indicator of how he is perceived overall as well. Hey, some people like him? great no problem. I just think he's a clown and not very interesting at all.

Agreed, and I'd say he's more of a provocateur than a straight commentator. Most of his rants are intended to incite folks to tune-in. Similar to online clickbait.

I’m curious, was Bud Poliquin a journalist or commentator? Personally, I like Axe’s style and never cared for Bud’s journalism.

“They need to catch the ball.” Babers says t
I know this may sound kind of "out there"...
BUT it was a night game and if you notice/look at the "grain of the ball" CUSE used on offense,
it was very dark and the white stripes looked worn.

Yeah...that's what it was!!!:p

I don’t disagree with you, but everything he wrote in his article yesterday was spot on. Beck can’t use Shrader like Purdue in every game or he want last to mid October. I disagreed with Brent with the play calling against Purdue, but we will have to become more diversified or our offense will be brought to a crawl against better teams.
Dino even said after the game that there will be some games GS is asked to run often, and others not. So they’re already strategizing when to utilize him that heavily. Axe surely knew of that so not sure why he would harp on it.

Because like a few posters here he’s a one trick pony, and that one trick is being perpetually negative.

Commentator like 97% of the time. He may have covered a Chiefs game or 3 (Waters/Donna/Rahme/etc would take turns when I worked for the team), but he never had a beat.

Really sucks losing such an elite passing threat in Gadsden. Best O weapon outside GS…

Been lot of talk about the wideout depth and it’s going to be tested sharply, and quickly come Clemson and ACC play. Not the best start with some of the misses Sat night. Hopefully Jones out there against Army.

I don't find him even close to as negative as the Locked In podcasts guys. Axe sounds like a bigtime homer compared to them. Since I don't live in Syracuse, I didn't listen to his radio show. I've enjoyed his podcast with Emily a lot more than those guys. To each their own.

Commentator.

Here's why I never liked either... Neither Bud, nor Axe, ever wrote or said anything that I found illuminating, enlightening, unique or creative. Neither ever constructed an argument or made a point that caused me to think differently, or gave me a perspective I had never considered.

They're painfully obvious. And that's fine if you are at least entertaining. But to me they're not that either.
