Dino's Game 4 Press Conference for Liberty: 11 AM

Syracuse HC Dino Babers starting his weekly presser. Said he’s happy to be 2-1. There are guys in the training room who need to get healthy. Babers said QBs are still being evaluated. When it’s decided, they’ll be told first, then the rest of the team and then the media.

Babers didn’t share any specifics on the OL plan, but it’s clear Dakota Davis’ conditioning is a (possibly the) key variable. The more snaps he’s able to play, the less Darius Tisdale will need to slide between guard and tackle.

"He's a QB that could throw the football. He throws a good short ball, good deep ball. But he runs so strong. He does not run like a running QB - he's better than that." - Babers on Liberty QB Malik Willis, SU's next opponent.

"I expected to be a little better than this, from a Rutgers standpoint. But from a health standpoint, I won't ever complain." - Babers thoughts on his team's overall performance through 3 weeks thus far.

"It's that Friday night game that everyone wants to watch when they're sitting in the hotel before they play Saturday ." - Babers on playing a Friday night game as opposed to typical Saturday games.

Babers said DB Ben Labrosse went home to Canada after electing to leave the program earlier this month. “We really miss him. He was a valuable part of our family.” SU mailed Labrosse a game ball for Week 1.

Babers said WR Taj Harris believes he’ll be ready for Liberty. TE Luke Benson’s status is still up in the air. If Benson is out, SU will be down to Max Mang and Steve Mahar as scholarship guys.

#96 for Albany looked like a P5 defensive end and Dino exchanged brief words with him after the game.
I'm sure - sure, I tell you - that he was merely congratulating him on his effort.

"Good job, good effort".

Syracuse football coach Dino Babers said his team will not be at full strength for Friday night’s game against Liberty.

Babers didn’t name the players who won’t be available to play this week because of injury. The coach also said some of the players who missed last week’s 62-24 victory against Albany could return to the lineup.

“We’re banged up,” Babers said Wednesday night on his radio show on TK99.

“I wouldn’t be telling you the truth to tell you we’re going to be at full strength. We’re not going to be at full strength. We’re going to be missing some cats that you guys are going to be like, ‘oh wow.’ And then we may have some guys back that you guys may say, ‘oh wow.’ There’s going to be some surprises on both sides.”

LOL of course. Classic SU to lose multiple "Cats" in a game that was over at the end of the 1st quarter. Sigh.

Like Sean Tucker who was wincing in pain on the sideline towards the end of the game?

Possibly Tommy D who played through pain based off adrenaline?

We already know Benson is out

On D.

Possibly no G Will in secondary

LB depth hit?
DL injury issue?
