Class of 2021 DL Jared Verse (PA) Transferring from Albany to FSU

Bromley was a late bloomer but pretty physically developed. Verse looked like a safety prospect at best size wise when he committed to Albany. How much he has developed is really remarkable. I think Verse is far more the case of “no one saw this coming” than Bromley was.

I don’t completely disagree but Bromley wasn’t on anyone’s radar until the downstate game. Verse wasn’t the size he was but he still had physical abilities that were worth a risk if we had taken a flier on him. Guy has track speed, everyone on this board loves track speed. The similarities aren’t that far fetched. Verse showed what he could do at the SU game just like Bromley showed what he could at the downstate game. As a result of those games both players got a chance to extend their careers.

But boy when he comes to play he’s one of the best out there.

I’m assuming once he gets to a strong P5 program he takes far less Downs/games off

An attitude on his part that limits his potential. When I feel like it will get him sitting on the bench in P5.

He is virtually guaranteed a starting spot here in a fun defense. That is a wise choice

Totally agree here for there will be similar talented DE’s at the big schools and at the Cuse, he will be the man! Dino should get future HOF’s Freeney and Jones to give this dude a call if legal.

I’m obviously getting ahead of myself but this thread has made me realize something very encouraging, we are all only a transfer or two from being very excited about the upcoming season. Hope is not lost, not by a long shot.

It's probably closer to 8 or 10 guys like this to fill out the roster and make us a bowl team again, to be honest. But this would be a great get.

A use of the portal to rebuild our team would do a lot to rebuild Dino’s fan base. Verse would be the one to start the portal sweep.

I would think SU would be a perfect spot for any talented player on the Defensive Line. White’s style of play, aggressive, multiple, fun. We should as much to offer him as anybody, especially when you consider the opportunity with the super seniors departing.

Despite our overall (lack of) results, our D line players and DBs have been outstanding, year after year, lately.

I know I would want to be either first or last in a recruit's schedule order.

I'm also glad to hear he got what he was looking for in terms of his visit. He wanted to see and talk to coaches and that's what they did.

Let's gets this win.

We're still in it. Florida State has a lot of terrific young athletes. He probably steps in and starts here, almost guaranteed. Down there, he'll have to fight for it.

We've had several terrific DE's who recorded double digit sacks these past few years.
Our DE's and our DB's have been outstanding in recent years.

Best case he comes to SU and he's a king. Worse case is SU was in the hunt early on a top transfer and mentioned.

Nobody remembers that stuff except HS coaches.
Certainly the guy from Albany isn't going to remember us fondly.

I believe his family now lives in Arizona but I could be mistaken on that
