Class of 2021 DL Jared Verse (PA) Transferring from Albany to FSU

This is what I know in these situations. We can convince ourselves why these players would/should come here and we almost never win these type of battles. It doesn’t mean we won’t but we have no idea why players decide one thing is more important at a school compared to another. We’ll know when he decides and that’s the only thing anyone knows.

I will also say that, after looking through his followers, it’s probably down to us and FSU

FSU was the one I believe that Cuse didn’t want to know that they were recruiting him and wanted everything quiet so they wouldn’t negative recruit against him too much

Please let FSU negative recruit against us. They just lost the #1 recruit in nation to Jackson State by a coach who was FSU’s greatest player ever. The fan base currently despises the coaching staff and unless they make a serious improvement this year (10-11 wins), they are going to clean house. Again. In the most fertile recruiting region in the country with every advantage imaginable. The program has talent under its nose but needs to recruit Albany NY? They are a bigger embarrassment than UConn.

I don't think most programs care where the talent is from. They just want the talent

How is it even possible that FSU has been this bad? I looked through their recruiting the past 4 or 5 seasons and they have killed it. I don't know how you lose so consistently with that much talent. This coaching staff is gone.

I like the way Verse is handling his recruitment process. Seems mature and analytical about it. Obviously I hope it pays off for SU. He would be a difference-maker next year, and this town loves defense.

I couldn’t agree more. The way he is not listing a top list is pretty incredible considering he is still a young man. This shows that he will show what he can do on the field and not on social media. Good kid no matter who he chooses.

What about Cody Roscoe's success at SU?

It's much more of a parallel / comp to Verse's situation.

Johnson went from UGA > FSU.
Roscoe was McNeese St > SU.

Albany is a LOT more like McNeese than UGA.

First Christmas after I met my (now) wife, I started taking ornaments off the tree on or around Dec 28. She said what do you think you're doing? I said cleaning up for New Year's and bowl game season.

Found out about The Epiphany that day the hard way.

We've since compromised to a Jan 2 tree takedown. It puts me in a depression leaving it up any longer than that. I have to move on.

Lol. We have the same deal in my house. I’m ready Dec 26 to get that tree outta my house but she stays until Jan 2. I tried pushing it earlier this year and went down in flames.
