Things may have started to slow down a bit and Coyle may want to talk to a few of the coaches who can't speak until Saturday evening/Sunday morning. This is going to be fun!

It makes 100% sense for Coyle to wait. Ash can always be a fallback option, so no need to settle just yet. If he really has already settled on Ash, which I'm skeptical of, he would've missed the chance on a few other high profile guys.

This is no time to rush this decision. He missed out on his overwhelming #1, so now it's time to regroup. A few of the targets remain coaching in their conference championship games, so I think things will pick up heavy steam by the end of Sunday. Patience is a virtue. Especially now. Let's get the right guy, not the easiest guy.

K, good talk folks. Now back to bed...

Come on Monty and Babers impress please

Agree with every word

What's the freaking point? If we're only offering $1.2M per year, why wait for them to inevitably turn it down? Just hire the SUNY Albany coach and get it over with.

This.

We need a coach ASAP.

Go get Babers. Have a real offer. And let's get rolling.

If we wait another week and still end up with Ash, I'm going to be furious.

If we hire a coordinator, I think $1.8 mil is reasonable with a $2.5 mil assistant pool bucket.

If we hire a previous HC, I think $2.4-2.7 mil is bottom line with a similar assistant pool bucket as above.

That sounds like a sane and the right thing to do. Better to wait and get the right coach than rush this. I still worry about how much Cuse Admin is willing to put up and think the $1.2MM has some real basis with incentives. That isn't much of a budget in today's world of big time college football.

If that is what we are offering then we are doomed to be bottom of the ACC for the foreseeable future.

What did Matt Campbell get at Iowa State?

It's what some OC and DC's have made in the past.

Didn't we offer skippy and Edsall 2m per 7 yrs ago? If this offer is true, we are going backwards

When does SU let out for break? End of next week? Think we have a coach before the players book for vacation?

Well then we're doomed. Not sure we're going much higher than that, but that is a huge increase over what we were doing this year.

6 year deal, $2 mil his first year with lots of incentives and a built-in increase yearly.

I offer that same contract to Montgomery and Babers and say first to say Yes gets it,

That would put us at $4.3 to $5.1 million in a conference with a $6.25 million median. No thanks.

Correct, which would be a huge step up from where we currently are. These contracts will be loaded with incentive-based bonuses and thresholds. Baby steps!

Please just throw the kitchen sink at babers and if he says no give the offer to the slab of meat from tOSU and call it a day
