Do the folks that said we would play 8 or 9 feel silly?

What I don't root for is an undeserving player to take minutes away from a player that deserves it.
So the chicken littles around here are to the point, now, where after watching 40 mins of a particular version of the Syracuse Orangemen they know who “deserves” to play more than Jimmy who has been watching them practice on-and-off for months?

You guys are evolving so rapidly these days, I can’t keep up.

The amount of crying over a current unknown commodity, under the MOST EXTREME set of circumstances (plus an in-game injured starter,) is a new level. I’m not even mad. I’m impressed.

Oh and we won!! And the most ridiculed guy hit some big shots down the stretch. And the most ridiculed rotation of the game (the second half rotation) outscored Bryant by 8, where the least scrutinized rotation of the game (the first half rotation) was -7.

It’s. One. Game.

There is a 45 year history (with few exceptions) of what JB will or will not do in a close game. He is going to play the 5 he has the most faith in, until or unless his hand is forced.

We should have lost a game against Bryant -- former D2 Bryant with a 7-11 NEC record last year -- with those 5.

They're not good enough. Play someone else.

I doubt Girard ever has as poor a shooting night again, as someone else said, reminded me of the first few practices after Christmas break in high school, the rhythm of the game just wasn't there yet.

And you can't ignore the big shots at the end when the team needed them because earlier he played poorly, those shots still went in and were needed.

Now the defense was inexcusable, but JB obviously thought even then that this lineup was better and had a higher chance to pull it out in the end and guess what??? they did.

If Girard ever shoots 14% in a game again I'll eat a Georgetown Hat.

You doubt it?

A selection from last season:

7-22 vs. Florida State
5-17 vs. Miami (Fla.)
1-7 vs. UNC
1-5 vs. Boston College
3-12 vs. UNC
4-14 vs. ND

Kid shot 34.7% from the field last year and 32.3% from 3. He also plays no defense.

Decent player and I still think he can get better, but he's not a very good option for us to get to an elite level. He is NOT GMac. Not even close.

I just wish he’d pretend to care on defense. But he’s never been expected to do anything but score.

But I absolutely do not blame Joe. This is all on JB and his inability to discipline Joe for his lack of defense and some really terrible decision making (last year).

I'm with you.

I'm a big fan of seeing what Bras could do with more minutes, but if he couldn't get minutes last season shooting 66% on 3s, we probably won't be seeing much more of him this season after he went 0-3.

Would have liked to see Braswell get some minutes in the 2nd half

Yeah, felt like Bras was forcing his shot a bit. I’m concerned he thinks hitting threes is the only way he stays on the floor.

And got stripped and blocked in successive possessions in the second half.
And if memory serves, just before that sequence JGlll missed another 3.
I was sure at that point that JB would sit JGIII for a little reset and give Kadary some run.

A previous unforced turnover when JGlll lost his dribble to Bryant just over midcourt was another ?! moment.
Definitely wasn't JGlll's day.

My non-HOF belief is that Kadary needs to get JB's confidence to split guard minutes evenly with Buddy and JGlll. Fewer minutes may allow them to focus on higher energy D that could help make up for shortcomings.

Just glad to have the welcome diversion of a played game, warts and all.
Nice to have issues to discuss on the forum instead of just covid and political issues to read and worry about!

I don't know who you are, nor do I care, but I'm a grown adult, not crying, and am fine to post my POV.

Kid has a 34% career FG%. <45% eFG%. BTW, for you, apparently a genius-level savant, those are both terrible.

He stinks on offense.

He also is a terrible defender.

That's offense and defense. Want to argue anything else? It's not one game. It's 33.

Congrats on being a and wrong.
