And we have a winnerCarney looked every bit as capable as Filardi and Collins in the few plays he got at SU. I'm wondering if he told Fran early on that SU wasn't for him and asked him to preserve his redshirt for a transfer to somewhere else. Fran may have been doing him a favor that mystified all of us.
The only thing with that is I’ve heard people say he wanted to come back and fran basically told him to look elsewhere. And we have a winner
yep and the snowflakes can't handle it. Speaks truth as far as I can tell, when those who are married to the coach(es) in one way shape form or another get upset at hearing the reality of the situation they lash out.Axe likes to stir the pot.
Agreed, Like minds. Hard to see someone else's perspective when you are exclusively enamored with your own. Sort of like political allegiance or alliance with like minds. You can certainly be objective, idealistic and certainly kind at the same time for sure. Unless you know it all I guess.yep and the snowflakes can't handle it. Calling him a "bad human being" is so over the top insane that it makes one question their basic sanity. Especially if one takes the time to meet and chat with this guy.
Now all that said the line in this last article where it says Reds name isn't long for being on the door is admittedly perhaps over the top harsh, this for upstate eyes ears and sensibilities. But being from NYC and spending years and years in chicago with what I've read there, this would not register in the top 1000 harsh statements of difficult fact.
I just read the article-What in there do you not agree with? I couldn't find anything. Here we go again. Brent the obvious, Brent the Bitter chimes in after the Duke debacle last night. Really? Cmon man, his reporting is insulting to our intelligence.
So he names off the people who are probably going to be on this search committee for the new AD, and says they are in the crosshairs to find the AD that will address the issue of hiring the “best coach possible “.
Really? Maybe they’ll get together and push for an AD to hire a bad coach. What is he talking about? Really?
Can anyone see the pattern here? Our boy Brent hates SU at multiple levels. Basketball is the most hated, then football, followed lastly by lacrosse. I believe his hatred stems from both the deserved thrashing he took from Jim Boeheim for asking dumb questions, and his firing from his narcissistic radio show. Brent is bitter and is adding gas to a grease fire to promote that bitterness. He is reporting like this to satisfy his need to revel in the failure of the basketball team.
We know the hoop program is in a tough state. We know Adrian Autry is gone in a month or so. We know SU has to pull off some key successes in the hiring of both the AD and Autry’s replacement. But to negatively point out what we know is nauseating. Axe never has any pertinent new information, because no one talks to him at SU. Sad.
Hopefully good writers like Mike Waters will offer tangible insight into real candidates for the positions, and not just keep laying it on people that they better do something, like Mr Brent does.
My hope is the Post Standard smartens up and removes him, but that probably won’t happen. Too bad for sports fans in the Syracuse area.
He’s not stirring anythingAxe likes to stir the pot.
Got him firedHe’s not stirring anything
Ok redGot him fired
i mean, they clearly didnt hire the best coach this time so Axe isnt entirely off base. You need an AD who isnt afriad to ignore the boosters who scream "only an Alum can coach in syracuse." That said, i normally agree he is captain obviousHere we go again. Brent the obvious, Brent the Bitter chimes in after the Duke debacle last night. Really? that line about his name not being on the door for long is a tad provocative if we're being honest, which I think qualifies as "stirring the pot". Regardless is it harsh? Yes. Is it true? Absolutely yes. He’s not stirring anything
I went to Newhouse, the minute I saw the pay of my first offer out of school i knew journalism was a no-go. I was passionate about the field but i also recognized that 36K starting salary wasn't going to pay my student loans so i went a different route. The brightest classmates I had either went right to the top - ESPN, Fox, etc. - or made the same decision I did and realized that the path to financial security did not flow through WXYZ in Alabama. Thats how you end up with Syracuse local news level reportersOnce again, Brent is fine. His subscription service is a bargain and his podcasts are good. The overall quality of SU sports coverage is lousy, to be kind, and he’s among the best. Make of that what you will.
If I made a list of the top 1,000 things wrong with SU athletics Brent wouldn’t make that list.
axe stirring the pot got axe fired.Ok red
Not really stirring the pot lol everyone wants him gone, the pots already stirredthat line about his name not being on the door for long is a tad provocative if we're being honest, which I think qualifies as "stirring the pot". Regardless is it harsh? Yes. Is it true? Absolutely yes.
Honestly if team needs u and u won’t play, u need a different team. It’s called a team not me. If he played he would still be here in my head. The only thing with that is I’ve heard people say he wanted to come back and fran basically told him to look elsewhere.
