I don’t get how we can have a smart and talented AD and he can’t do anything to help the basketball program.
Just use your brain and look at this year’s to roster situation and then look at next year’s barring major major upgrades it’s not going to turn around next year.

How does Wildhack not see this and if he does and nothing changes it’s maddening.
SU football has actual disadvantages and limitations.
SU Basketball is not relevant at all.

The fanbase is overwhelmingly getting the issues. Jim Boeheim is not getting it done and its not a one year problem.

How can you fire a coach when they have the best recruiting class ever coming in next year ????
I don’t want or advocate JB should be fired.
JB doesn’t want to retire and he isn’t getting it done. Wildhack needs him to make some changes or ask him to retire.
The status quo isn’t working.
JB says stuff because he is spinning a point to try and calm things down. Problem is JB is just saying things.

Other than forcing jb out, there is nothing that can be done. JW can't say fire an ass't and bring in a rainmaker. Because no rainmaker is going to come work for a 77 year old. He can't tell him to run more or play man. No AD can really do that. It's make the move. Now. give him next year. But this has to end.

Wildhack's in a uniquely difficult situation. It isn't often an AD has a HOF NC winning head coach that became the HC during the AD's freshman year at the same school. It seems all Wildhack can do at this point is quietly behind closed doors tell JB he thinks there needs to be changes made. He looks like a tool if he fires a HC that has literally never had a losing record (yet), even though the program has clearly declined.

Wildhack can tell JB his behavior and attitude is unacceptable.

JB’s PC behavior is easily something Wildhack can blast.

Oh sarcasm doesn't come across well on a message board LOL

If the big donors care more about JB being HC than using their eyes and seeing what is pretty obvious then Wildhack is okay with this.
I don't know that he'd be ok with it. What can he do about it? Big donors are essential to success. The problem is that the program hasn't fallen off a cliff. It's been a steady slide. That muddies the waters.

I have heard from good sources he has. It it worked for a couple of weeks. But JB is IB. And short of firing him, what can JW do if JB does one of his rants? Yell at him?

Perhaps but who knows JB has been on the hill for a long time obviously.

Suspend him.
That would embarrass him and send a message.
If JB is going to act like a jerk in what he says discipline him.

No one would do that Alsacs for something a Hall of fame coach says in a press conference. We have to be realistic. JW would come off looking like a fool. And the national media would ridicule him. They don't watch JB's press conferences. You suspended a Hall of Fame coach for saying a kid doesn't get it????? Can you imagine the reaction. We would come off as a joke and worst of all, it would give JB power. It would make it far more difficult to fire him after that fiasco.

So...

I think this idea that Wildhack will look like a tool is overblown.

It's clear as day that this isn't going to be a story book ending.

At this point, the possibility that JB tarnishes his legacy is far more likely than that he adds anything positive to it. Everybody can see this.

Let's say we do end this year as a losing team.

Next year you have to squint really hard to believe we'll be better.

Would it be more merciful for Wildhack to ensure that JB doesn't end his career with two consecutive losing seasons?
