I think this cements Coughlin as an NFL HOFer. That will be 7 or 8 right?

What a run the last 6 or 7 weeks. Who would have thought after the washington loss late that this team would reel off 6 in a row to win it all?

I love that Eli backed up his comments earlier in the year regarding his being an elite qb. And to do it again against Brady?

What a night

Talked about below a bit, Marsh thinks Tom is in and I think maybe he has some more work to do.

(Both of us want him in of course...)

I know it's tempting to talk about Eli vs Brady, but it really is Eli vs Pats D and Brady vs ours.

Though both QBs were tremendous.

Wish Brady would have owned up to the bad throw to Welker. Don't quite understand why the little guy is taking all the heat on this.

Coughlin, Freeney, Harrison, and McNabb could put us in first! :D

I doubt they all get in, but each one of them has a case. I think at least 2 get in, and we're in 3rd place!

Coughlin and Harrison are LOCKS.

Freeney needs another 50 sacks or so. Chris Doleman had 150 sacks and he waited forever to get in, so he needs to be around that number. Right now he is at 102 or so.

McNabb can buy a ticket he isn't coming close to getting in. He won't even make a final cut. The man was a nice player NOT even close to hall of fame worthy.

I don't think that either Coughlin or Harrison are locks. Parcells wasn't elected this year, and I don't think that Coughlin has a greater case for admittance than Parcells.

Harrison has at least three issues: (1) How much was him and how much was Peyton? (2) There's a tremendous backlog of quality receivers awaiting induction; and (3) Marvin's 'issues'.

Don't get me wrong. They both deserve induction, IMHO. But they're not locks. And only (up to) five modern nominees get in each year, and there's a bleepload of great nominees.

Parcells is being "punished" by the media for how he treated them. He'll get in.

yep, picture this one day.......how cool is going to look with the recreation of that famous SU picture in Canton with Little (getting the ball in front), with Couglin right behind him and Czonka right behind him.

I think it was Coach Ben handing it off to them. More ammo for recruiting wars re a long history of NFL success and HOF, as long as they put our current probowlers up front and center too!

My opinion...

Coughlin is a lock. He was going to be seriously considered before this year. No question he gets in now.

Harrison is a lock as well. His numbers are fantastic. 1,102 catches, 14,580 yards, 128 TDs, 8 Pro Bowls.

Good Argument for Why Marvin Gets In

Dwight Freeney is all but in at this point. Another Pro Bowl season this past season, his 7th, has him very close to being a lock as well.

Discussion on Dwight's Chances (Pro and Con)

Not so sure about the others. You can also make a strong argument Gary Anderson belongs in the hall. One of the top 3 placekickers ever in the NFL (at least he was the last I knew). IMHO, if you are one of the top 3 in the history of the league at your position, you should be in the Hall of Fame.

The others

Spot on. Who knows if the of the above guys doesn't get in on first ballot, but all three will get in.

I don't think McNabb should get in, but I do think he will get in... eventually.

On a side note, it is a joke that Cris Carter and Parcells didn't get into the HoF. They both will get in, but it's just silly that they aren't in already.

Freeney and Harrison HAVE to be shoe ins. McNabb should be in the hall but who knows with those terrible voters. Coughlin deserves it as well. We should move up that list within the next 5 years

Marvin Harrison is a lock and might be a Top 5 WR of all time. Maybe Top 3

You McNabb lovers need to come back to reality. The guy has no prayer of getting in

Mcnabb had one of the all time best td to interception ratios of all time. He will be in for many other reasons

You are delusional. The man bounced around from team to team at the end of his career being cut by bottom feeders like Washington and Minnesota. There is no chance he makes the hall. Never won a ring. Went to 1 super bowl. Doesn't have overwhelming numbers in any category. Was never a Top 3 QB of his era in which he played either.

If Phil Simms ain't in, no way in hell McNabb gets in. Sorry! If Jim Plunkett with 2 rings and a SB MVP ain't in, no way in hell McNabb gets in.

You have only 1 "pure" kicker in the hall of fame as of now. Adam Vinatiri will be the 2nd when he retires. Gary Anderson's biggest moment in his career is from that 15-1 Vikings team where he has a FG to send them to a Super Bowl and lock up a game and he missed it. Only miss all year but that is what many remember him for. That one kick alone will keep him out. The man's whole career (fair or unfair) is defined by that one kick in the eyes of many.
