Dome Nachos

They had a stand that had Dino pulled pork and baked beans…. Stand behind section 119 or 127? One of those had the Dino options, one had wings and cheesesteaks, In the 00s decade I wanna say
My understanding is that Dino was hard to work with. They made a number of demands. The bottom lie is that It is hard to produce quality BBQ in the dome, which has really limited space and capabilities for this kind of thing.

Maybe when the new building east of the dome is completed, some of the space can be dedicated for state of the art food prep. For Dino and other local restaurants that are interested in having stands at the Dome.

Not disagreeing, but just a comment on the nachos. For what it’s worth, it might depend on the stand. Our cheese has been so hot, that my son has to last it cool off before he will eat it.

The biggest thing to me is no more peanuts and no more peanut m&ms. I was told to avoid any peanut allergy issues. So I guess it’s just in case someone with an allergy accidentally buys, opens, and eats PEANUTS or PEANUT m&ms. If you have that allergy, don’t buy it. Isn’t it that easy?

The Dome Dogs suck now too...what made them good was the foil wrapper that got the bun steamed and soft. Now its in those cardboard containers and makes the buns have the consistency of cardboard. Ruined!
I have never experienced a Dome Dog in a cardboard container. When did this nonsense start???!! The Dome Dog in a foil wrapper is a tradition seemingly as old as the stand and clap until the first basket routine at the Dome.

“The whole SYSTEM is breaking DOWN!!” - Jerry Seinfeld in the episode where nobody wanted to go to the coffee shop anymore.

Reading this thread I realize we could clean up fair amount of ocean pollution by simply allowing folks to buy drinks and foods in the container they leave their factory in vs repurposing in multiple plastic containers. Sell closed cans vs plastic cups w/ lids, use recycled card board nacho holders vs plastic... If you let the cheese sit long enough to soak in, that's a you problem.

Pretty sure I've seen the beer waterfall in every section I've ever been in... And I've been in a dozen

In the case of peanuts I think just being around the shells and “dust” can be enough. The m and ms is different.

Gotta get them from the “old style” concession stands built into the wall, not the new grab and go.

“Old style” ones have the foil wrapper with soft buns (or at least still did for basketball season).

i get them from a reg stand and they have come in a box all year.

Hmph. I’ll be at the NC State and do some scouting around. That’s really disappointing to hear though. The box and stale bread is awful.

Why did they have to ruin the best nachos in any stadium on the planet? It is really my only pet peeve other than the awful speaker audio lately. I refuse to buy nacho cheese out of a sealed cup that isn't warm. BLASPHEMOUS.
Great job by the "legend" Pete Sala.

There's so much wrong - nachos, pretzels. What's next, Popcorn ?

Somebody here has to know somebody that knows somebody that knows who's in charge.

Give up the name !
Actually the popcorn has been a big improvement. Freshly popped and large sizes instead of just the small cold boxes. Just have to find a stand with a working machine,

i assume they'd smoke all the food elsewhere and warm it up there, it shouldn't be too hard for them. i don't know what i'm talking about here, i'm just thinking of how I'd do it.

Yes, the popcorn is much better!

i love the passion over nachos, this is funny

i can still remember the first jalapeno i ate at a sabres game in the oranges. so good.

wise makes "stadium nachos" that somehow the powdered crap tastes like those 1984 aud nachos and i used drive twenty minutes to hegedorns to get them and now they don't sell them and there is a hole in my heart

Dinosaur initially provided full smoked pork shoulders and trained Dome staff on pulling and serving techniques. Then they insisted on placing a smoker on site and on having it tended during the full smoking process. What could go wrong with having an apple wood fired up smoker in the middel of a college campus overnight on Fridays? Just became too labor intensive. Understand Dinosaur wanting to protect their brand but it made for an untenable stiruation.

Dome concessions used to br fully under the purview of SU Food Services and was frankly a real PITA for the same guy who managed retail food sales and dining halls campus wide. They hired a stadium food services manager last fall during football season. He has an impressive resume. Heck, he's a Yankees fan who managed concessions at Fenway! Has some great ideas, but nothing that has been impemented to my knowledge. I believe grab and go was underway when he came on board. I will see id we can gewt some additional information,.
