I get the nonsense angle. But….why? I’m not in media why would someone mention a specific date so affirmatively on a reputable site. I come in no snark. Genuinely confused if this is all 100% bsSeeing threads like this always makes me contemplate (a) should I be a good human and set people straight about obvious misinformation, or (b) take advantage of suckers and profit from their ignorance.
I don’t believe this contract info is accurate. There’s no way SU signed him to an 8-year contract.![]()

Just read this thread, all the faults have been laid bare. I firmly believe this was an AI-generated "story" with, at best, a quick look over by a human before he clicked publish. If it was actually written by a human, the guy may be the worst researcher on the internet. Everything he sourced was done incorrectly. The entire thing is hot garbage.I get the nonsense angle. This could be his “source” for all we know. He probably saw that, didn’t realize it was satire and went with it.
The answer is no oneCan’t be.. please? Maybe the buyout is much smaller. Why would you sign a guy with no HC experience to a 7 year deal? Who was after Red, Chicago State?
As a Siena alum, I can unequivocally say that we don't want him.He won’t be here in 2030. Maybe Siena, but not here.
That’s hilarious how trashy Sporting News is now.Just read this thread, all the faults have been laid bare. And the Sporting News is not a reputable site. It's an old brand that's now in the hands of PE ghouls who employ AI and ghost writers to aggregate and content farm.
Might be the day of.the day after the ACCT loss
This could be his “source” for all we know. It’s the only other place I can find in a Google search that mentions 2030. He probably saw that, didn’t realize it was satire and went with it.
Agreed! Guilty. However this is the same university that selected Autry so I’m of the opinion bad decisions beget worse onesThat article really is a Rorschach test of Syracuse fans.
If you immediately bought the 2030 and $13 million buyout stuff and got angry -- and didn't first think that it seems outlandish and you should wait to validate those things -- maybe step back and think about how you consume media, and how you might improve your media literacy.
I remember Sporting News as a legit print when I was a kid. That article really is a Rorschach test of Syracuse fans.

Yes it was def AI. Click the link for the tax source. The AI bot mixed up and was citing Dino Babers contract and salary info from a Syracuse.com article a year or two ago. Then somehow mixed in some Autry info and ended up with the craziness.Just read this thread, all the faults have been laid bare. red must have received some hefty bonuses because things did escalate quickly. He had small escalators in pay from the $1.8m he started with. Those are facts
Or whether you should be a "messenger" for the BoardThat article really is a Rorschach test of Syracuse fans.

Unbelievable baseball coverage back in the day.I remember Sporting News as a legit print when I was a kid.
Mike Decourcy used to cover the cbb. I guess times have changed.
Yep, for decades it was solely a baseball publication. I read it religiously in the 80s.Wasn't it originally primarily just baseball? Printed like a newspaper published in St. Louis I think. I used to build it once in awhile in the drug store. I think it used to include the box score of every MLB game.
