Donnie Freeman appreciation. | Syracusefan.com

Donnie Freeman appreciation.

He played a great game but disappeared at times again, and I don't think it's his fault. He needs the ball more.
Hopefully, this will start to happen and he will keep gaining confidence. We need to start having hope again when we get big recruits.

We are not playing well but I like a few things I saw today. Both Donnie and Elijah stepped up and had to. Both of them are aggressive with their shot and ooze confidence.

Lamp. I love his fight. Warrior and he cares, made a lot of basketball plays late that helped.

JJ went crazy! Took over the game and we lose without it.

We might just be establishing an identity with some of these players filling in late and it helps build dynamics if some of these young kids get used to getting the ball and converting.

Don't give up! Believe it or not, we can build on this less than stellar start.

I love your consistent optimism on this board.

Hey, if I could do it consistently in real life, I would be one smiling fool!
But I try. We have been rock fighting for a while now, but so proud of them for fighting back when they could have lost the will, but they didn't.

and I always believe we will win the next game.

Is there room for improvement…..absolutely (like every other player and definitely every other freshman in the country). Does he make mistakes - yes. But he plays hard, has an enormous amount of potential, seems to be a good teammate, did some things most other guys on the roster can’t do, and came back into the game after being kept out too long and made some winning plays (including hitting fts). I am stoked he is playing for the Cuse.

I saw a team finding an identity, and a coach not so worried about participation ribbons.
At this stage, I would start Moore & JJ in the backcourt. Moore makes an effort on defense, plus he is an offensive threat, and won’t shrink from a big moment.
(Note: I really liked some of the rebounds Freeman went up and grabbed. Some of them were Melo-esque.)

Freeman is looking great this early in his freshmen season. I see NBA potential for sure. It may be one and done or two and done, but either way he has the talent and measurables to be very good.
