Richardson was not close to Freeman. He caught lighting in a bottle and had one great game in the tournament. Lydon was and I admitted that.

Freeman would have looked a lot better to us had the veterans around him been good and actually performed.

Statistically he was not close to Freeman. There were 3 freshmen definitely better than Freeman in Donte, Flynn and Ennis going back to Melo. If you want you can argue a 4th maybe Lydon. I was not trying to denigrate any player. I was simply going off the stats. It’s the posters in this thread who are trying to say Donnie isn’t very good that make no sense.

Assuming he doesn't go pro, it's definitely a risk for programs to hand him a huge NIL offer with a season-ending injury.

Hope he's at Cuse next year.

He’s the one guy on our roster that could go into the portal and get big time NIL offers at top 25 programs. One could argue he could probably develop elsewhere better as well. Would he need to play the 5 with Sadiq here? He still won’t know who his PG will be.

JJ could get 3x the money he is getting here. And he has been in school 3 years and not played for a winner yet.

I thought Donnie was overrated anyways. 6-10 and plays soft on the perimeter. He’s gifted offensively but was a mess on defense. I think we can roll with Davis for the rest of this year

News to me that I thought we were going anywhere and has nothing to do with Freeman transferring. We should fire Red immediately if we are relying on freshmen next year. We will just suck again. Rutgers is exhibit 1A.

We’ve sucked for 10 years with Red on the bench for all 10 of those years. With the injury excuse this year, I still think he’ll get a third year, but it’ll be a disaster again next year.

I hate to say it because Red seems like a great guy and a loyal alum, but he’s not the right coach to lead the orange resurgence. We have one good recruiter on staff but everybody else can leave.

Or, Donnie comes back when he’s healthy & we dip into the portal for an SEC center that better fits our system (looking at you, Estrella) to play alongside him next year. He gets a big bag from ‘Melo & Co. & raises his draft stock right here in ‘Cuse.
