Donnie Freeman injures foot

Not to speak for Phil, but there's been a strong undercurrent here of "woe is us!" when it comes to NIL. In fact that seems to be the #1 excuse from some quarters as to why this season is a mess.

Unless someone has tangible evidence that our NIL is set to double this offseason, I don't think it's unreasonable to doubt that we're going to add 3 high-level portal pieces.

And by high-level I don't mean going back to fish in the CAA waters.

Regardless of how many quality players we sign this summer, do we have any confidence at all that Autry can coach at a high level?

He can guard the three and he’s a much better ball handler than Donnie. You just play with three forwards and no center. Teams have been doing that for years.

One of Boeheim's innovations was that much of the time, he played 3 forwards, a PG and C. At least one had to be able to handle the ball, and 2 of them had to be able to shoot threes. But we ran that kind of line up a lot.

Remember when we played guys like Kueth Duany, Jason Cipolla, Josh Pace, Tyus Battle, Mike Gbinije, Dave Johnson, Marius Janulis and all sorts of guys like that for size at the top of the zone. In honesty, those guys were more forward than guard. He even did it with Raf Addison his senior year.

How are the Red loyalists signing off on the Indiana plan (big NIL) for two years worth of Melo money? That is what we have coming our way.

It's pretty obvious this will come with strings attached. We already had daddy ball. Will this be labeled legacy ball? I feel bad for Kiyan.

Will Melo fund a roster that has Kiyan playing spot duty and very limited minutes? And all parties will be happy?
I have my doubts this is gonna work.

No, but at least Saturday was a positive outing and they looked prepared and motivated

The ball handling and turnovers are really tough to understand. All our guys handle the ball like they’re 7 footers.

All I can think is this year the reason we turnover the ball in game so much is because we play lazy defense in practice.

If our squad this year was Practicing against Judah, Maliq, and even Q they’d be a hell of a lot better taking care of the ball in games. I’m not saying they didn’t have their problems but they were always looking to pick pockets and now we’re like 250th in turnovers .

Agree with that. Solid effort. Would have been nice if he played Moore after that first 5 minutes. If you want to keep a kid engaged, they have to go back in before the next game.
