Donnie Freeman Injury Updates (Not Out)

HIPAA violations say hold my beer. We dont have any right as fans to know what his issue is. Would you want people knowing what your ailment is? Im sure it will be announced
Eh this is a recent thing. We always knew injuries until the last few yrs

Don't need to know ailment, but the University could give a little more insight such as we hope he's back next week, two weeks, next year, not coming back, Etc. I'm not buying the day to day thing.

Red won’t be let go this year. Freeman’s injury will play a part in that. But he’ll definitely get another year.

Everyone has said it is "tournament or gone for Red period" If I take everyone at their word that means it doesnt matter if Donnie is healthy or not Red will be gone if he doesnt make the tournament

We’re not making the dance. The Vegas trip and a loss to Tennessee will kill our non conference resume. At this point, we’d have to finish top 3 in the ACC.
Just means JW can get that ole rolodex process underway by Jan 1..

Let's not kid ourselves. That is what the program needs. Find the best, proven coach possible after a thorough and well planned search rather than kicking the can down the road for what, at best a 10 seed and hoping for 1 tourney win? Rip the damn bandaid off ASAP and prepare for the future.

Red put together a talented lineup this year. Can’t account for an injury to your best player. Have a hunch, though, it will be years before we get back to anywhere near where we were years ago, regardless of who’s coaching. We lost our northeast recruiting foothold when we left the Big East. It’s been a struggle ever since.

This is not a well informed post and you’re talking out both sides of your mouth. We recruited fine this year. There’s just as many top 50 guys as we had 15 years ago and we signed transfers other power conference schools wanted while passing on guys performing better elsewhere. We friggin had a top 20 roster by just about every recruiting service. It’s all on the coaching.

Not many where he can make 7 figures though.

Pro ball is always front of mind for every P5 college starter, but I can’t see many teams signing him to any meaningful contract until he can play more than 10 games at a time. He’s not THAT good.
I agree... There is more money for Freeman in college at this point than the pros, if he doesn't come back. If he makes it back and starts All America-ing everybody, that calculus changes very quickly.

Yes, it’s on the coaching. Autry and his staff must start making all those open 3 pointers and stop missing 17 foul shots a game.

With NIL, it doesn’t have to be years. Find the right guys. The most expensive guy doesn’t always mean the best. There’s still talent evaluation involved.

So many of the top kids are now at basketball / sports academies. Even places like PVI (Jordan Smith) are far cries from the old days of crawling though the boroughs for talent.

What would it take for you to acknowledge the coaching isn’t at an acceptable level? The staff banging a married family relative?
It would take the same lobotomy you have apparently had. Are you seriously denying the fact that free throw shooting and poor 3 point shooting has been the major issue for this team so far? Is that coaching?

I dunno about that...I believe he's gotta make the dance to come back for year 4...
red seemed pretty unfazed after the iowa state beatdown in the post game presser...not a care in the world...maybe he knows something

i get what youre saying...but to a certain extent, yes. roster construction is 100% on the HC. so whatever players do, the coach is either directly or indirectly responsible.

chris bell is shooting his highest 3% of his career right now at cal 45%...

chance westry having a breakout season at UAB...shooting over 50% fg

quadir is shooting 62% FG, 55% 3!, and 74% FT

all these guys shooting WAY BETTER than they did at SU

coincidence? maaaaybe

does anyone think if these 3 guys were on SU right now that theyd have the same %s they do for other teams??? if so, really????

perhaps they have coaches that are getting the best out of them and putting them in spots to succeed?

perhaps they are running offensive plays and sets that play to their strengths...unlike, say, with Nate Kingz...who is put in the corner like baby in dirty dancing

who is shooting well below his 3pt% from his previous teams...lowest of his career

a bit of luck ??? sure...but its not ONLY luck

beyond that...coaches cant work on their players technique???? what are they doing in summer practices????

coach cant shoot the ball...but when you see a whole team struggling to shoot...theres a common denominator there,,,,,guess what it is???

Let me mediate. Both things are true simultaneously and are intimately intertwined... The coaching is absolutely substandard AND various aspects of the players themselves are substandard (ie foul shooting and 3 point shooting, etc). World is not so black and white that one has to be right for the other to be wrong lol
