Red man walking.
Red man walking.
This is where I’m at.Just means JW can get that ole rolodex process underway by Jan 1..
Let's not kid ourselves. That is what the program needs. Find the best, proven coach possible after a thorough and well planned search rather than kicking the can down the road for what, at best a 10 seed and hoping for 1 tourney win? Rip the damn bandaid off ASAP and prepare for the future.
No, you don't. The players will just have to sign a disclosure waiver, like the "pro" athletes do.You would have to change the federal HIPAA laws. Good luck with that
No shot he’s back if we keep this upRed won’t be let go this year. Freeman’s injury will play a part in that. But he’ll definitely get another year.
Absolutely not denying that. Let me introduce you to something called….It would take the same lobotomy you have apparently had. Are you seriously denying the fact that free throw shooting and poor 3 point shooting has been the major issue for this team so far? Is that coaching?
I’m in agreement with you but I also question on who is calling the plays. If the coaching staff are calling for the large number of 3pt shots or are the players just looking for the 3pt shots. I really do not see the players attacking the basket that much outside of steals that lead to breakaways and alley oops to Kyle and Sadiq. Very few plays are being called for give and gos/pick and rolls or shooting shots inside the 3 pt line.It would take the same lobotomy you have apparently had. How'd that work out for the Nets? McCullough played fewer NBA games (59) than anyone else drafted in the 2015 1st round except for the guy drafted immediately in front of him (RJ Hunter - 45). Brooklyn would have gotten a lot more bang for their buck taking shorter PFs like Montrez Harrell or Kevin Looney.
Irving arguably could have gone No. 1 overall out of HS if he was eligible for the draft. Overall he posted a stellar 32 PER in the 11 games he did play, he missed the middle of the season, coming back to play in the tourney. McCullough didn't return, only played a little better than average in more games, but tailed off quite a bit once the non-con was over.
The NFL and other pro leagues have some specific rules for injury reports. College basketball and football are basically pro leagues. The difference is those leagues have a strong, centralized leadership vs. the NCAA, which seems to provide no leadership and cohesion. You would have to change the federal HIPAA laws. Good luck with that
So many of the top kids are now at basketball / sports academies. Even places like PVI (Jordan Smith) are far cries from the old days of crawling though the boroughs for talent.
This was no better than a 20-win team with Freeman healthy. We needed to win at least a game in Vegas. But that door closed when Freeman went down. Houston was our best chance to steal a win. You’re right, we have talent, as I noted, but we’re also not as talented as the teams we faced in Vegas or Tennessee. Kyle didn’t play for UCLA last year. He averaged 3 ppg. Betsey didn’t play for Cincy. This is not a well informed post and you’re talking out both sides of your mouth. We recruited fine this year. There’s just as many top 50 guys as we had 15 years ago and we signed transfers other power conference schools wanted while passing on guys performing better elsewhere. We friggin had a top 20 roster by just about every recruiting service. It’s all on the coaching.
With the right coaching there’s enough talent to win 23-24 games here. Kyle only didn’t play at UCLA because Cronin would rather play small ball and Betsey is hardly the first freshman to barely play. He was still the 45th ranked recruit in last year’s class. This was no better than a 20-win team with Freeman healthy. We needed to win at least a game in Vegas. If Donnie is out for the year and coming back next year, it better be for way less than the rumored 1.5mil he got this year. Also, I have a hard time seeing us keeping both Freeman and White. If Donnie is out for the season or extended amount of time. Good chance he comes back next year. Depending on who the coach is, we could have a core of George, Anthony, Sadiq and Freeman coming back.
I get it, You, like some others, donn think Autry can coach. He won 20 games his first year coming off the end of the Boeheim era. Last year he was handed a weak roster due to limited NIL funds and coached half of the year without his heralded freshman. We’ll never know what would have happened in Vegas if Freeman was healthy. So I can’t judge Red until I see him play with a full deck. Folks who think he won’t be back next year if SU misses the tourney (likely at this point) are sadly mistaken. With the right coaching there’s enough talent to win 23-24 games here. If you’re saying there was only enough talent to win the same amount of games as when Girard and Buddy were on the team I think you’re just making a lazy assumption based on the past 10 years.
I’m at the point where I don’t think the endless “talent” discussion here even matters. With the right coaching there’s enough talent to win 23-24 games here. hipaa may be the most misunderstood law in all the land.Ok this is just me being dumb perhaps but why does HIPAA permit us to know for a fact that Angeli had an Achilles tear within 24 hours?
They voluntarily disclosed that information, among other reasons.Ok this is just me being dumb perhaps but why does HIPAA permit us to know for a fact that Angeli had an Achilles tear within 24 hours?
up there with ricohipaa may be the most misunderstood law in all the land.
Agreed. Sick of the excuses. Kansas won without their star and they have a guard who starts for them that we wouldn’t even look at because we thought we had better options. I get Red is no Bill Self, but c’mon.I’m at the point where I don’t think the endless “talent” discussion here even matters.
Either this team is talented and not winning is a reflection on the coach.
Or the team isn’t talented and not winning is a reflection on the coach.
Either way, we need to win. Now. And all season from here out.
