Don't post very often

Ty for your service to our country! That was aimed at the out of town fan who complains about us that live in this city obviously not directed at someone in your situation.

Thank you for the reply,, I guess objectively looking at SU football, we all as fans from around the world have to be frustrated. I am not defending Mr. Miami for his comment about classless fans, I think if you read his post he is going off the notion that you support the team no matter what, no matter how many wins or losses and the only way to show that is to be in the seats. Honestly though I love SU football as much as anyone, but I cannot dedicate my life to going to games. In fact I have never had the chance to even visit the Dome. This time of the year is absolutely beautiful up there, and if it were go see a losing team, or take my little boys camping im not going to watch the game. Does not make me classless or a fair weathered fan, we just all have priorities that at times trump our beloved football team. I believe the Miami guy is probably a very passionate fan who like the rest of us is frustrated and he probably really believes in the 12th man. calling the people of Syracuse Classless was a dick move but what do you expect from a retiree down in Florida...

Go Cuse!!

PS. My oldest boy is in 10th Mountain and might be joining me over here soon. He was thinking about heading to Boston or Pitt to see us play. If anyone is going we would love some information, hotels, resturants, tailgating etc... thanks

So stop bitching about other people going or not going to the game. I live in DC and I was there today. Those there were loud and considering how the team has played at home and how the season has gone, I don't think it was too bad of a crowd.

From that picture, you must have been sitting right next to me! And you didn't say hello? (Unless you were that drunk guy who asked about my binoculars.)

Enjoy your posts. From a local, alum, & season ticket holder, safe trip home.

The people who liked the original post better have season tickets. This poster is entitled to his opinion but What are you complaining about the fans for. My god what reason do people have to pay for tickets when we suck and our team is not entertaining to watch. Shame on criticizing the fans. People who have paid for season tickets should be given stuff as the garbage on the field product has been sub-par.
6 games at the Dome 27-26, 20-34, 6-28, 20-38, 17-24, 10-27.
Offense
100/6= 16.6 ppg
Defense
177/6= 29.3 ppg
Shame on you fans for not supporting a team when the product has stuck. This board is the last place to complain about attendance since most here have season tickets or go to the games.

I drove up from NYC Friday. Went to the game. Cheered like crazy. I left early when it became apparent that the coaches and possibly players gave up.

I honestly don't care if this makes me a bad fan. Bad football teams tend to generate bad fans and this is a bad football team.

I live in Cololrado Springs but I am currently on deployment in the middle east who watched the game from a couch lastnight, should I also go *** Myself?? Its obvious that the frustrations of this season have spread to all fans near and far. No need to put a guy on blast over it. I agree with most everyone, you win, you pack the house, you lose its empty. Same applies to all teams for all sports nationwide.

Well, you didnt complain about the support the team was getting.

Thanks for your service.
We have reservations at the Boston Marriott Newton that we cannot use. I understand it is sold out (as are many others). Mrs Crusty can just add your name to her reservation and preserve the rate - $132.97 per night. November 28 checking out the 29th. He would just register, sign in and give them a CC.
PM me is that works for you.

yeah sorry, Maybe I read your post and just got fired up instead of actually reading it... Anyhow.. I remember when I was a kid watching games it always seemed like a crazy atmosphere there! I remember how many times teams would say how intimidating it was to play there. Would be great to get back to that one day. Or be competitive enough against the "bigger" teams to have that atmosphere again. That is something as a fan I would love to be apart of!

just sent you a PM, I will get with my boy, please give me a day, kind of a big time change here

We can go in circles forever on this but the truth is until they start winning the fans won't fill the Dome.

Personally I don't blame em. Unless you're Penn St. or ND of a handful of other programs, your ticket sales will be directly linked to wins.

Good God! When will you people get it? LISTEN UP! IT'S ENTERTAINMENT! LOSING REPEATEDLY IS NOT ENTERTAINING! IF THAT HAPPENS, YOU FIND OTHER THINGS TO DO. JESUS...

If you're trying to sell your reputation as an a hole with this post then you did a marvelous job.

And I'm sorry, but there's a difference between locals buying a "product" and students attending the games to show spirit and cheer on their fellow students - that has nothing to do with W's and L's. And I don't care how bad your team is, if you can't motivate yourself to go a game when the #1 team in the nation is in town, then that's just pathetic.

I don't like the lack of attendance anymore than you but I can tell you that the place got loud - the people cheered and were into it until about 9 minutes in the 4th quarter when we fell apart. Those that do go - were not sitting on their hands. I was happy for the enthusiasm despite the disappointing result.
The crowd was loud as hell until it fell apart in the 4th quarter. As i always say, the fans that show up to all the games are the reason its loud every game regardless of attendance. Can we complain about the poor attendance at the Miami Dolphins games lately?

Eh, there is a gigantic chasm between the general student population and the football and hoops "students". They're not moving in the same orbit, so to speak. This ain't high school, or even D3.

The notion that students should just be blind sheep who go to the Dome for football every Saturday seems a bit silly to me.

That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. I took more issue with his delivery and attitude than anything else in his post.

That's fine.

One thing the recent, nationwide trend in student attendance has shown is that students are acting as consumers just like locals and alumni. Nothing inherently wrong with that, IMHO.

I'm sure the economy hasn't helped anything in that respect either. If their parents have less disposable income then so do they.

And that's what matters. The crowd noise has been very good this year.
