Doug Marrone sighting

Go, pretty funny comeback. A day later. Feel free to get snarky with me.

I'll wait.

Any good egg recipes?

Otto in the grotto, never right, never embarrassed.

He was a mediocre coach that got most of his wins because of really good defensive coordinators. Of his 6 years of coaching he put exactly one good offense on the field. By all accounts where he has worked he was paranoid and impossible to deal with. That's the truth about Doug Marrone. Are you saying this isn't true? In 6 years he did nothing more than mediocrity.

Yes that isn't true at all. And considering where we were mediocrity was gold. In 4 years he built Syracuse back up to a respectable program, and if he stayed on we would be back to a top 25 program, not coming off a 3 win season.

Maybe he should stop taking jobs with organizations that have a history of failure. Because he seems to have gone backwards.

And while discussing "history" of failure for said organizations we should pretend the 90s never existed.

So the pinnacle of his career was getting coffee for Sean Payton?

You thought Paul Pasqualoni was a great coach too and he wasn't As far as what I said about Doug pissing people off that is fact. He left very few friends at the university. We will see but I think Scott Shafer is a better coach and a much better person Scott has has had defense right his entire time on the hill. I do give Scott a lot of credit for a lot of Dougs wins. If Lester can be mediocre this can be a very good football team.
.

Right.

Hall of Fame Bowl, two Fiesta Bowls, Orange Bowl, Gator Bowl, Liberty Bowl, Music City Bowl, Champs Bowl, etc.

Over 100 wins at Syracuse University.

Four Big East Championships.

Those are the facts. And they establish a great record - one that probably will never be duplicated on the Hill.

So, you can stop the nonsense.

Marrone left a lot of friends in CNY and at Syracuse University. His best friend was Rob Edson, a great person and a person who was uniformly respected.

He resurrected the program - he did it quickly and he got us two bowl wins in four years. He was great.

Scott Shafer is a great person. I'm rooting for him as hard as anybody. And I am hopeful that he will succeed.

But last year was an utter disaster - it was a three win season and should have been a two win season. And Coach Shafer did not perform his role as HC effectively.
