Draft question

Why would the Cleveland Browns trade up one pick to draft a guy that would have been there anyway at the fourth pick? The Vikings clearly didn't want him. I can't see any positives to moving up one pick. If the team in front of you is willing to swap back, that should tell you they don't want your guy.So the question is, are the Browns really this dumb or am I missing something?

Word was that they really wanted Richardson and were worried that someone else was ready to trade up into the #3 slot. Seems like a lot to give up to move up one spot, but I guess word was out that Minnesota coulda gotten a similar haul from someone a little further down looking to get into that spot.

Ok, now it makes some sense. I still think its stupid to give up that much for a running back but I'm certainly no GM.
