It's hard to believe that this is our first game in Philly since that heartbreaking collapse against Nova in the 2014-15 season. I think I went to every SU/Nova game in Philly from the mid-2000s to the mid-2010s.

Is there any buzz here for this game? Who's going?

After watching "Mob War: Philadelphia vs. The Mafia" on Netflix I think I want to check out Skinny Joey's Cheesesteaks near the arena after the game.

I'm thinking of going. Quick day trip from where I am.

I'll be there.
Can't say there is much buzz yet.

Drexel lost by 11 after leading at halftime against St Joseph’s, another game on our schedule in December. I imagine if they had beat St Joe’s there would be more buzz for our game but being 1-1 may have lowered any excitement. It should be interesting to see how they do and if they rebound against Colgate at Colgate on Tuesday.

St Joe’s I think is pretty bad and in for a rough year. Lost their top 3 scorers including Reynolds who of course we were hoping would jump into the portal.

If we were ever able to realistically split up basketball and football into different conferences, I would wholeheartedly support returning to the Big East for all sports except football. I miss the games against all our old rivals Gtown, Nova, St John’s and UConn. I loved that JB kept up some of the rivalry games in the non-conference and we should have done more. But our program regression and the stupid NET forcing us to play a less challenging non-conference schedule has really messed things up.

As crazy as it is that we haven’t played in Philly since 14-15, it’s even crazier we haven’t played in MSG in 5 years.
Wow I hadn't realized we hadn't played in Philly for so long. Aside from NYC always felt Philly had the most Orange connections of any city. Great memories of kicking Nova's butt too. Can't attend the game but hoping for a good outcome and glad the Orange is back here.

And I ask this every year ... when was the last time we won a game in NYC? It's been a while. MSG for certain a long time I think.

I'll be there - easy drive for me. Also wish we were playing Nova instead. Having seen SU match-up with Nova multiple times in the same building that keeps changing its name (e.g., the Spectrum II), the Nova fans remind me of the arrogant Uconn fan base.

Heading down for the day. Should be fun.

Hopefully we’re back in the Garden next year taking on St. John’s or UConn’s. I’d kill for a two day old Big East reunion mini tourney. Get Villanova or Georgetown to fill out the crew.

Some years ago, my family and I attended a game vs. Nova at the Wells Fargo Center (I seem to recall we won). Afterwards, a Philly sports writer commented that there was so much orange in the stands it looked like a Flyers game.
