Which is why they should close the loophole. With the most recent proposal. Which makes obtaining the degree a requirement.

NCAA proposal that would curtail graduate transfers not expected to pass

So, with degree in hand, the NCAA is keeping kids captive. They can start a grad program at the original school, which theoretically that can't complete during their athletic eligibility, but they can't go to another school and do the same.
How can anyone think that is a good thing, or is right.

It is a terrible idea and meanwhile they are giving undergrad kids like Martell ridiculous waivers to transfer and play immediately

I am of the opinion that if you are academically eligible, you should be able to transfer (between spring and fall) without having to sit out at all, as it is for most other sports.
