Uh...Great job. It shows with the proper dedication all the athletes could achieve this goal.
Uh...
Dude, regular students rarely graduate early.
Doesn't the NCAA and universities require student-athletes to be a full time student and be making standard progress toward a degree to remain eligible? 3 from 5 doesn't seem like he took classes fulltime or failed enough classes to lose scholarship or eligibility. One of my high school classmates got a full ride to Va Tech on wrestling schollie and left in 5 years... With 3 years worth of a degree. He wasn't a dumb kid in the slightest, said time constraints were just too much.
Regular students also usually don’t go through every summer session or get the same academic support. But my reference was graduating not the length it took.Uh...

They define progress very differently. You would think it would nap to a 4 year graduation, but it doesn't. I don't know the exacts, but the requirements to demonstrate "academic progress" are pretty loose.Doesn't the NCAA and universities require student-athletes to be a full time student and be making standard progress toward a degree to remain eligible? 3 from 5 doesn't seem like he took classes fulltime or failed enough classes to lose scholarship or eligibility.
All I remember is Sunday at Chuck’s and Monday mason jar night at Orange Grove or East LA or whatever they called itWhatever, I did it in 4 1/2, and didn't so much as get a part job because I memorized all the drink specials by night at the various campus bars. You think that stuff is easy?
I'm not proud.
Curtis should be.
Ah, you're one of the people that views it like that. Gotcha.Regular students also usually don’t go through every summer session or get the same academic support. But my reference was graduating not the length it took.
In order to be consider full time students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours each semester. To be making progress toward a degree is what ever minimum gpa the school has set for eligibility. Most schools is above a 2.0. Just an FYI 24 credits a year will not put a student in position to graduate in 4 years. Typically students will do 12 in season then 15-18 out of season. With div 1 sports typically they do 12-12- and then tougher classes in summer to make up the credits. They define progress very differently. Personally, I think they should just make all student-athletes 5 to play 5, no extensions, redshirts, medical redshirts, transfer waiting (although that's probably done soon anyway), etc.
That's not how I see it; he's deservedly bragging about graduating a semester early, and having enough eligibility left to complete a master's program. There's nothing else to read into it, in my opinion.Sounds like he may hit the portal
Yeah, that sounds about right. I thought too there were some ways to build some cushion with summer/online courses too. Does that sound right? In order to be consider full time students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours each semester.
