Rarely see this. it’ll move one way or another shortly.

edit: now it looks like it was Cuse -1 for 5 minutes first.

That line says Syracuse has more work to do before they'll be favored. Walk a mudhole in them and they'll open as a small favorite against Liberty.

Don't be fooled by brices INT's, I haven't seen all of them but the one this week wasn't his fault and at least one the week before wasn't either. Their WR's struggle to get separation but he'll take a hit to make a throw, moves pretty well, doubt they'll get much space against our secondary, duke -2-3 is probably fair.

I don’t like that at all. Everyone and their mother is going to be on us at that numbers. Should probably be 3-6 points favorites at home

Not surprising. Duke played 4 tough games so far. They are down but far from out.

VT was without 21 players and there entire starting secondary

Virginia Tech ran all over Duke.
I really hope our OL is ready to run block.
Duke has a couple of good DL but their defense is undersized we should be able to run on them.

I would never bet on this game though I have no read on how we will do.
I feel confident we should heat Duke though.

Sadly, the perception of Duke football is a fair amount better than ours is to the casual fan.

We play pretty well at home. And we are coming off a bye week. I would have thought we’d be favored by 2.5. Although Cisco being hurt may have hurt a point.

What exactly has Duke shown YTD such that they’d be favored by ~3 on a neutral field?
Because that’s what a road pick-em is saying.

I get that we’re not great.
But - how/why is Dook supposedly a little less not great?

What's factored in with the pros making the lines is the way we won last week and the way we lost the 2 weeks prior. Some on this board refuse to recognize the #s but rather focus on the final score. Pro line makers dont factor in turnovers, the play from the LOS.

Are you saying we got outplayed last week and didn't deserve to win? Not quite sure you've made that point clear yet.

By the numbers, we did, we were +5 in turnovers. We were beat from the LOS.

Could we score 31 points against Virginia Tech?
Could we hold Notre Dame to 27 points in South Bend?

Well said, add it all up and we shouldn't be favored against anyone in the league, even if the game was played on Mars.

I remember UConn fans saying this stuff to us in, I think, 2004. We would have beat you if not for our QB throwing 5 INTs.

At the time, it was adorable, because they were so new to it all. Like a baby saying their first words.

I didnt think GT did much on offense, but we sure missed a ton of tackles that added up.. if we tackle like that we struggle. if we turn people over like that we stay in games..

Lol, but it's more than that and thats what Vegas looks at and that's what makes them smart. If lines and predictions were based on final scores like fanbases boast after some wins and ignore the teams weaknesses; then Vegas wouldn't be...well, vegas.

Digging a bit and looking at the numbers and the way the game was played, the smart guys in the desert realize our win was opportunistic with cuse needing +4 or 5 in turnovers to get the job done having been beat for 275 rushing yards and over 500 yds from scrimmage to win by 3 scores. That's only part of it.

GT had 275 rushing but they didnt really block anything well most of the game. We needed to not make so many poor tackles and angles and thats been an issue all year.
