Duke opens as a “pickem”

Ya, it’s no secret how to stop our offense. Don’t give up the home run, move Tommy off his spot and force us to sustain drives. if we can continue to run the ball like we did in the first half of the GT game that book goes out the window.
I agree...if we can run for 150+ yards we should win easily unless we have turnovers or lots of penalties.

BTW, do our refs for Saturday live in the Triangle? Just asking.

Who cares whose favorite. Did Tulsa care yesterday as 21 point dogs ? Did we care as 8 point dogs to GT . The season is only 3 weeks old and given the messed up camp due to covid right now it’s hard to judge anybody

No one has to care, but it is the perception where the teams are right now.

Our refs are bad but I'm not sure they are at B12 levels yet this year. 26 penalties in the TX v. TCU game with 11 in the 1Q. 24 penalties in the Baylor v. WVU game. I had to turn both of them off, it was painful.

Don't be fooled by brices INT's, I haven't seen all of them but the one this week wasn't his fault and at least one the week before wasn't either. Their WR's struggle to get separation but he'll take a hit to make a throw, moves pretty well, doubt they'll get much space against our secondary, duke -2-3 is probably fair.
But, we're playing Duke, the whole team. It's not like we're playing another team that Brice was just traded to. If INTs are the fault of his WRs, his OL (allowing pressure), Brice, etc, they were still INTs for the Duke offense. I don't really know if Duke is turnover prone this season or not. I do know that our D has shown an ability to force turnovers, however.

And that's fine. We've been fighting perception since GERG, and rightfully so. I believe we were picked to finished last in 2018.
If we keep winning against the spread, Vegas will come around. How much money gets bet on our games most weeks anyway? The sports books probably have interns setting our spreads.

I'm betting that Vegas leaves NOTHING to chance (or interns).

“Hmmm... looks like SU finally has a run game!”

I think we need to know status of Cisco before prognosticating on the outcome of the Duke game. It makes a big difference in my opinion if he is good to go.

Tucker TD and the Oline will continue to improve. The rest and extra prep will also pay dividends. I think this is a break out game.

I was joking about interns making the lines, but there's no way they don't put more (higher quality) analysis into, say, SEC games than SU v Duke.

There has been a slow build in the running game
removing the qb runs runs over 5 yds

game 1 no holes 2 runs 38 total yds 2 ypc
game 2 several holes 6 runs 63 total yds 3.5
game 3 multiple holes 8 runs 147 total yds 4 ypc.
game 4????

if 2 more weeks of practice and getting healthier mean something thats a good progression yds almost doubled each game from scary bad to avg
ypc from pretty bad to OK..

needs to be 175-200 and closer to 5 YPC

Just running a little the passing game got better, the pressure went down and the big plays went up..

they dont put out lines to get hammered though.. While avg people wont spot mistakes the Sharps will. they have systems to help build the lines and then add onto it expected play.. If they are way off the lines move pretty fast.

This 1000% percent. The sharps will kill the casinos on a bad line on two 1-7 teams in the Sunbelt.

No, we shouldn't be obvious favorites and yes Duke blows. I wouldn't bet on this one or any this season, honestly.

I watch other conference games and watch it as entertainment. When I watch a cuse game and there are bad calls they stick out.

Duke is really bad they did compete with nd for 3 qtrs but bc and uva had their way with them and VT down 20 players beat them. Not sure Duke should be road favorites over anyone.

The same could be said about us, hence the pick-em open and bouncy line since

We are coming off a 17 point win. Not saying we are a good team by any means but Duke shouldn't be road favorites over anyone.

Really odd. Duke is a great matchup for us scheme wise on both sides of the ball. We are at home. We are coming off of a good performance, while Duke hasn't looked good at all this year. We had two weeks to prepare. And we handled them very easily last year. I expect us to win by more than two scores.

Has settled at -2.5 for now. Can get +115 on ML

I grabbed the + 115. I've watched Duke play three times. Not that impressed. We have issues but our defense should be able to suffocate them.

Vegas is excellent at setting NFL lines. College football? Not so much. Plenty of opportunity. In college you can see lines move 5-7 points from where they were set at the beginning of the week. That rarely happens in the NFL.

BC is pretty legit, jurkovec is good and hafley is a legit coach, the good version of Chris ash lol, duke is streaky for sure, everyone was killing the one poster who said we got outplayed by GT and were lucky to win, now I won't go that far but the ball bounced our way for once, but I can see the game having a close line.
