I was wondering the exact same thing..isn't a player laying fully out of bounds out of bounds ? not sure why duke gets the ball there. can anybody clarify ?
I'm not sure of the rule, but I think if you are a player that was involved in the game and went out of bounds, then you are still considered a participant in the game and thus, whether or not you're laying on floor or standing on feet, you are still a legal targeti understand the bouncing the ball off a player on the court deal. but if you smack it off someone on the bench or clearly out of play why would you retain possession ?
