As many others have already said, I freakin love Eric. Easily one of my favorite of all time. Flat out warrior on the field. I hope he gets a real shot!
Ryan Nassib had a good run being that cheap QB behind the franchise QB.Especially if he comes "cheap" -- which, presumably he would.
Some teams love inexpensive backups, when they have long-term guys they've invested tons of money in. Didn't the Colts have some clown from Wisconsin as Peyton Manning's backup for several years, basically because he was cost-effective vis a vis the salary cap?
So what kind of cash is this? I wish him well but don't think he will make the team. How much is he in line to make as an extra arm until Burrow gets back?
It's all about moving the chains and putting some points up. I will be watching his stat lines each week. Hopefully he makes the most of his opportunities.
Burrow is still going to get 90% of the snaps during the regular season but this should help Dungey get some opportunities to show off his skills.
The way people are talking around here, it’s highly likely that Brandon Allen is going to get the backup job but Dungey could slip into the #3 spot with a good minicamp and preseason.

At least it's looking good for preseason snaps, so at least he will have that chance to show his stuff.
Allen will be the backup barring a horrific performance in preseason and/or if Shurmur or Dungey do something extra special. Allen proved capable in his handful of starts last season, finishing with an 82.0 passer rating. Shurmer and Dungey will likely be battling for a spot on the practice squad.
That's actually an amazing coincidence or is it...Looks like Dungey is competing with Kyle Shurmur from Vanderbilt to be the third QB/ practice squad QB.
Interesting note; Shurmur’s father was the coach of the NY Giants who talked Dungey into signing with them and attempted to make him a tight end.

Can’t be any worse than shurmer/Allen. Shurmer just threw a pick 6.Eric gonna get some drives tonight ?
